When we met Remi in the Spring he was reactive to humans and dogs outside the home. He had a very traumatizing medical spell of seizures around 2 years old and it shifted his behavior.
Fast forward to now. He has attended multiple Reactive Rover Classes, fostered 2 puppy friends over the summer (and decided the 2nd one was never leaving), and even allowed company to come in the front door without the first bark.
We are so happy for him and Ziva (his mew sister). They are the best of friends. His family has worked so hard to help him enjoy life differently and it is all paying off:)

Force Free Training is so much more than restriction. It is about creating a beautiful bond that allows confident reliable behaviors that come automatically. Diana is 4 years old this month and such a rockstar. She is always checking in and aware of where we are while exploring and doing her thing at the same time. #greatdanesofinstagram #diana #4yearsold #covidpuppy
When you are following instructions, but they are boring so you add your own little twist😂.
In efforts to assess if the wonderful quiet behavior we saw today at the vet would still be the same back at home where he is currently most comfortable.
We always practice “Muzzle” a few times before clipping. Well, it looks like we hovered too long or did not clip fast enough.
This means this mornings behavior of seeking affection and comfort is correlated directly to the fact that he was in a shut down state in a brand new setting. It doesn’t mean he now just wants affection.
