Marshall now 2 years old:)

We had the pleasure of helping him when he was a baby navigate puppyhood when he was tiny❤️

Over a year later we were reunited and he remembered us:)

He has developed some fears he needs help working through, but he is a rockstar so he will overcome them in no time.

Here is your yearly reminder… Christmas puppies are cute;) But still work🫢

Here is your friendly reminder….

Cute Christmas Puppies come with
-Razor sharp teeth
-Inability to know where to potty (or hold it past 2-3 hours at a time depending age)
-No impulse control in any scenario
-Unaware of boundaries

Adding a puppy is a HUGE life changing commitment. It takes time to train, play, feed, and clean up after puppies. Puppies and their antics can role into 2 years (2 years is when most dogs reach adulthood).

We normally advise against getting 2 puppies at once. If you get 2 you have to put in double time with training, cost, and everything else that comes with puppyhood.

Christmas puppies will need training just like all other animals any time of the year. Please be sure to set them up right. Many Christmas “Gifts” lose their magic when the real responsibility sets in and unwanted behaviors arise from lack of appropriate outlets.

Puppies are work no matter how cute they are.

Diana has made it thru the last 2 years in puppyhood and finally hit the couch dog phase that we love the most😂.

We have had several inquiries lately about Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and Emotional Support Dogs.

There is some confusion it seems about which does what job.

Service Dogs are Task Trained to directly assist one person with specific needs. These are considered medical devices and have rights to public access as long as they are not causing a disruption with barking or inappropriate pottying.

Emotional Support Dogs are meant to provide emotional support to a person. They do not have to be task trained and they do not have public access rights. They also typically require a Doctor Note for certain housing.

Therapy Dogs are dogs that provide comfort and relief for a multitude of people. Their training requires a high level of confidence in social settings and to be well behaved. Therapy Dogs must have permission to enter the public place where they are volunteering their services. They do not require task training or a doctor note.

We offer training services for all the dogs listed above. Each is definitely a lifestyle choice and training typically takes more than the 4-8 week sessions we offer for most. Training also always something that will apart of their life even after the sessions are completed.

Goose is currently working through puppyhood and working on building his confidence in public settings to be able to move on for task training for his person. Goose is nervous, but with practice we should continue to see him blossom:)

Seven was the SWEETEST little girl in class. She was a bit nervous initially. She warmed up after some time observing and hotdogs:)

We covered ways to eliminate jumping and how to create check outs with guests when they arrive.

Next round of classes will be posted soon. They will be in January.

We have a few in home session spaces remaining after Thanksgiving before Christmas.

April is very quirky in many aspects of life.

She is mouthy which overly excited or anxious. She didn’t like the collar being touched at all it would definitely end with teeth on skin. She ran from the sight of a leash. Ran from her crate. Runs after cats/birds/squirrels.

We are 7 weeks into her training currently.

She willingly goes into her crate and will sometimes settle (not on cue, but this is drastic improvement from where it was).

She allows the handling of her collar without a reaction. She allowed us to harness her up without cornering. She also actively touches her leash signaling it is fine to clip on collar/harness.

She also muzzles herself easily. She is still working on building the duration for the straps on her ears still make her uncomfortable.

She is getting much better about being touched for petting and play and using her teeth much less.

We still have much to learn, but her very extreme responses have shifted in a quick manner.

We are so proud of her and her dad for working and not giving up. She’s a tough girl:)

When we met Remi in the Spring he was reactive to humans and dogs outside the home. He had a very traumatizing medical spell of seizures around 2 years old and it shifted his behavior.

Fast forward to now. He has attended multiple Reactive Rover Classes, fostered 2 puppy friends over the summer (and decided the 2nd one was never leaving), and even allowed company to come in the front door without the first bark.

We are so happy for him and Ziva (his mew sister). They are the best of friends. His family has worked so hard to help him enjoy life differently and it is all paying off:)

Our classes are different than most.

We learn as a whole, but majority of class is working each individual starting where they are towards their individual goal.

We don’t teach class with the expectation of each dog learning the same cues. Many come to class already knowing some cues and we build on that.

Our main goal is to use this as a learning experience for proper socialization.

If you go back and look at the videos from class you probably couldn’t even tell which pup was fearful and barking at the start of class, or which one was bouncy and outgoing to every dog/person they met.

By the end of class everyone was running around playing and socializing beautifully. They also learned ways to engage their pup when distractions are happening and how to check out when overstimulated.

Our next set of classes in Nov are on the 13th & 14th at 6:15pm.

Sign up by emailing records to [email protected].

PM us for any further questions.

November Class!

We will have Puppy Kindergarten for puppies 6 months and under.

We cover puppy topics and learn how to properly socialize.

In our adult class for puppies 6 months and older we cover all the hot topics. We work on focusing with other distractions present and leash work.

Our classes are a mix of one on one training and working together as a whole. There are no requirements prior to class other than vaccines.

Adult class is great for practicing cues with major distractions even if your dog already knows the basics.

To secure your spot please email vaccine records to [email protected].

Each class is $25.
