Blaine Kennels is absolutely outstanding and hands down the best I’ve seen in the Metro. As an experienced handler/trainer and rescuer, I am very selective in whom I choose to handle and care for my dogs and I wouldn’t take them or trust anywhere else. Thomas and his staff understand dogs, their energy and have the ability to do things I’ve not seen at other boarding facilities. When you walk into a building filled with 80+ dogs, usually you’ll find utter pandemonium and non-stop barking! At Blaine Kennels, it’s quiet and peaceful. How? Because each dog is held accountable for polite and respectful behavior. They must respect thresholds and boundaries and their brains are challenged, so they leave fulfilled and likely better behaved than upon arrival. It’s like a mini training tune up!!! Then, they get a myriad of enrichment activities based on your boarding package. I choose nature walks for mine bc that’s what he loves ❤️
I have a 3x LGD dog who can be insecure meeting new people. Not everyone understands how to appropriately interact with a dog like that (one of the reasons I board him is bc my dad doesn’t follow the rules and does not comprehend that not all dogs are the same). I can trust that he is handled safely by the staff and they won’t allow him to be a pushy as$hat.
I worked at a facility that didn’t believe we could or should hold boarding dogs accountable like we did in the adoption wing because they “aren’t ours.” My philosophy is that they’ll be better for it, easier for staff to handle and likely learn something, so the fact that Blaine Kennels embodies that is my dream! my dogs and I are here for it!!!! Why wouldn’t I want my insecure stranger danger dog to be handled by multiple new people and guided to make good decisions? It’s a no brainer and a win win 🥇
So, if you’re looking for a top notch place to board your dog, take them to Blaine Kennels. You and your dog won’t regret it!!!!
