Willow stayed at Blaine Kennels for a long weekend while we were out of town. She got to play with some of her doggie friends, and she was well taken care of by the staff, who know her well. We never need to worry about her while we’re away. Willow has been going to day care/mentor pack at Blaine Kennels for more than 5 years and loves her “regular” days at Blaine Kennels with all her friends!

Finn came to us dog reactive. He joined our Reactive Dog Daycare as the pack (dogs + staff alike) helped him relearn appropriate behaviors with dogs & humans. He has since moved to our regular Structured Daycare & has many, many friends. All of which he interacts with appropriately.

That was all it took for Finn & we see it everyday here. Dogs teaching dogs is a magical thing. Please don’t give up on your dog or think your life needs to be filled with avoiding walks or life in general bc of your dog’s behavior. Please don’t think you should attend class after class when you aren’t seeing any changes in how your dog feels.

We don’t smother you with classes here - we help you get results.

Finn’s last day with us was yesterday as his family moves across the country. Many tears were shed but we are so proud of him. We are so proud of his progress, that we are offering $100 off evaluations in his honor — use code FINN when scheduling yours in the month of March.

We are excited to announce that Cheri Wulff Lucas will be here hosting her Learn to Lead Workshop, May 16-18!! 😎🥳🤩

Learn to Lead is a 3 day workshop that was created for both professional trainers and civilian dog owners.This workshop is unique as it has both working and audit opportunities for students. You’ll leave this workshop knowing how to properly assess dog behavior as well as how to implement Cheri’s tools, techniques and strategies. You’ll learn Cheri’s foundational principles and how they can be easily integrated into your everyday life. Cheri teaches you how having a healthy relationship dynamic with your dog is critical for understanding their behavior.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Throughout the course of each day, every dog is worked with individually as other students observe. Each Learn to Lead is different based on the unique issues of the dog participants. You will see an amazing transformation of each dog over the course of the three day workshop!

A typical day at a Learn to Lead workshop begins at 9:00am and ends at 4:00pm. Occasionally class will run late. Lunch break is from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. You’ll receive a certification of attendance at the end of the workshop.

We’d love for you to join us and network with others who are as passionate as you are about dog behavior. Learn to Lead as you’ve never done before!

As the weather warms up, we get out into the big 1 acre fenced yard with trails more — and the dogs LOVE it! Watching a mix of our Mentor Pack (helper dogs) run around with our Reactive dog pack is heart warming. Dogs are capable of so much more than we think ♥️.

Tad the Dad needs our help!
Here at Blaine Kennels we are fortunate to have a large and varied Pack. You may not know that Pack has always included a cat. Ferbs was our house cat and an important part of our staff. You may have seen our post last month that Ferbs was adopted. He earned his retirement and found a super cool Dad to chill with.

Well....Blaine Kennels has added a new member to our Pack. Meet Tad, a 13 yo Orange Tabby. Tad was just a baby when Our GM, Emily Hanson, worked to get him into a foster home. And....13 years later Tad is well settled in that same home. Now he is known as “Tad the Dad” because he has spent most of his life fostering dozens of kittens. Just an amazing dude.

Tad, the Dad needs our help. Since Saturday night, Tad has been in emergency care and was diagnosed with Cholangiohepatitis. I’m not familiar with it, but it is rough and requires a lot of supportive care. Overnight stays at the emergency vet gets very expensive. Tad’s bill is already $5,000 and he needs another 48 to 72 hrs of supportive care.

Final Chance Animal Rescue has stepped up to help Tad and we need your help. Please share and donate if you can. Don’t need thumbs up, sad faces or hearts. Share and/or donate....that is the only thing that will help Tad.
