A message from our Executive Director:
“I send this message to at least 5 people a day. It kills me, but we cannot responsibly take on any other dogs without funding. Accepting a new dog with a large donation still doesn’t help the other dogs we already have in rescue unfortunately 🥺.

Every dog in our care is due for their annual vet visits. That’s an easy $300+ per dog… & there are 20 dogs in our care… the math on that makes my stomach hit the floor every time I think about it.

I’m not sharing this for any reason other than to really help everyone understand why we can’t take on any animals. We’ve been struggling this year with donations (everyone has 🥺) & it isn’t anything anyone should feel bad about— it’s just the way it is. A lot of people are worried about things this year they never thought they needed to worry about. People are scared.

Please lend us some grace as we have to do the heartbreaking task of saying no to a dog that has hit the end of their road when it comes to options. It hurts us more than I can explain, to say no. But we are 20 dogs everything - and they need us too. We are fighting every day to be here for them ♥️”

“Blaine Kennels has made such difference in our lives. A vet told us we would have to put down our few month old (rather large) reactive puppy because he doesn’t handle other humans well. We refused to do this so we tried a few places to get help and ended up where we should have started, Blaine Kennels.

We enrolled our boy into a board and train program. He thrived and is easily the best trained dog we’ve ever had. The staff trained us with how to handle reactive situations, what to watch for and dos and donts, and the importance of a calm brain. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff and the care they have for each of the dogs in their care.

I’m grateful that although we still haven’t figured everything out, we’re on the right track and if we ever need to board him, we have a place to take him that understands him and cares about him.
