Today is a day to celebrate shelter pets. Shelters are full of great companions just waiting to be adopted and loved. If you have adopted a shelter pet yourself, we’d love to see them. Post their photo in the comments below. If you’d like to donate to your local shelter, here’s a helpful link:

Thanksgiving is about good food, good company and good pets. You may want to give your furry friend a taste of something that’s on your plate, but it’s a good idea to make sure it’s safe for them to eat first. Luckily, we’ve made a list of holiday foods to enjoy (yum!) and holiday foods to avoid (no-no!) for your pet.

🎉 It’s time for our annual Unleash Joy program! 🎉
Each year, we choose a charitable organization to support through the end of the year—and we’re so excited to announce this year’s pick!

🐾 The Bitty Kitty Brigade! 🐾
Our team has proudly voted to support The BKB, a wonderful organization dedicated to spaying and neutering stray cats in partnership with local shelters. They also provide lifesaving care for orphaned neonatal kittens (ages 0–5 weeks) who aren’t yet able to eat on their own.

We are honored to help uplift their mission this holiday season! 💛

If you feel called to donate to our Unleash Joy campaign, just let our team know during your visit. For those interested in giving physical items, we have a donation list available in our lobby.

Let’s Unleash Joy together this season! 🐱✨

Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, great food, and time with loved ones, including our pets. But many holiday favorites can be harmful to them.

Foods like turkey skin, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, and anything made with xylitol (a common sweetener in desserts) can be toxic. Safer options, in small amounts, include plain green beans, carrots, or pumpkin.

If your pet gets into something they shouldn’t, don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Contact us for guidance during regular hours, or head straight to the nearest emergency clinic if it's after-hours or urgent. Quick action can make all the difference.

Wishing you and your pets a safe, joyful Thanksgiving.

Cold weather can be tough on pets!

Here’s how to keep them safe:
• Limit outdoor time (even for thick-coated breeds)
• Use sweaters or booties for small or short-haired dogs
• Always wipe paws to remove salt, ice melt, or antifreeze
• Be cautious with space heaters and cold-weather hazards
• Watch for frostbite or hypothermia: whining, shivering, weakness
• And never leave pets in a car, no matter the season

Stay warm, stay safe!

🐾 Have questions about cold-weather care? Give us a call, we’re here to help.

November is Pet Diabetes Awareness Month

Did you know pets can develop diabetes just like people? It’s more common than many realize, especially in older pets, those who are overweight, or certain breeds.

Here are a few signs to watch for:
• Increased thirst and urination
• Unexplained weight loss
• Increased appetite
• Low energy or lethargy

If you’ve noticed any of these in your dog or cat, it’s worth giving us a call. Diabetes in pets is manageable, especially when caught early. With the right care plan, many diabetic pets go on to live happy, healthy lives.

It’s National Pet Diabetes Month and we’re here to help you spot the symptoms of diabetes both early on and at a later stage. It is estimated that 1 in 300 dogs and 1 in 230 cats in the US have diabetes, so it’s important to be informed in case your pet is at risk. If your pet is showing symptoms, be sure to visit your vet.
