Tip: try not to stab yourself in the finger when working w/ very sharp tools. Went into my joint…ouch! It’s been 5 days & it’s finally stopped hurting all the time! Be careful dividing!

Tip: (My rule: don’t “man handle” the tubers🤣) Always: BE GENTLE! The necks are fragile. I lay them down carefully, & hand carry them in bins to my shop where they dry💛

Tip: Did you know that if there is a little wobble & small crack in your tuber - you can tape it & often it is just fine to plant!

Spoke too soon…….the bastard voles got 3 or 4. (Took a bite out of my Bright day (Normandy Bright day!😂). Hey…..could have been much worse! At least they left me half a tuber. FYI: you only need a half of a tuber to successfully plant & grow a dahlia plant❤️😋😝

So…..why can’t I manage 800 dahlias without asking for help? A shoulder, & 2 total foot reconstructions, a hip replacement, & a year ago: 3 level cervical fusion. And I’m a dahlia addict🤪

Tip: save your Mother tubers separately. If you loose a variety in storage….you may find you have a good Mom to count on🤣❤️ Goodnight💤

FLEUREL, 10” white blooms❤️ I didn’t think my tuber would survive….put it in a pot & it has arrived🥰 I’ve 5 plants (back porch up against the house, AND in my Dahlia Shack!)😊Yes…I admit I’m hoarding a few! A fabulous Hilltop Mimi bloom is in my bathroom🎉

AC Glenda💕 Wish I had planted 2, but this one plant gave me 100’s of blooms on long stems! Amazing producer! A perfect 3” bloom, on a 6’ plant!

Carefully digging my pots. Just dug one w/ no label. Stem looked bad. Was my cherry tomato plant!🤣

318 dug/ there’s 800 total 😎 (dug & processed 75 today) So far no vole damage, & no gall. The rest of the dahlias are all covered so the rain won’t saturate them! Hooray!🤩

My last Tartan! Now cut & on top of my piano w/ my family’s photos💜 Reach out & tell someone how much you love them. Life is precious….don’t hesitate to tell them how you feel. It’s been a stressful few days….so many need a long hug. I appreciate you all😘 (hugs, goodnight 💤)
