11/3 update:
Oscar is resting at the emergency vet still. He still has diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Doctors are trying some new meds to help stabilize that, then will try to start the feeding tube back up. This sweet baby is fighting and showing us he wants to be here. Let’s do this Oscar. We got you! He will remain hospitalized at the emergency vet again tonight, then we will transfer him to one of our local vet partners tomorrow morning. Picture of Oscar this morning added to the post and in the comments below. He is a sweet baby boy!!

Update: This puppy has tested positive for Parvo. He also has low blood sugar. We have been told the bill will be $3,000+. Our hearts hurt.
If the owner of the other puppies is following this post, or if you know the person… please share this….you need to get the other puppies in this litter to a vet immediately so they can be tested and treated early so they don’t end up like this little one and they have a chance. We know is she has more puppies in Tekamah still. Please do right by these animals!!!

Animal rescue is hard. It hurts. It breaks our hearts. And it is painful when animals suffer. It is even harder when people lie to us to get an easy way out. Tonight our hearts are heavy. But we will continue and we will rally our troops. And we are fighting to save the life of an 8 week old baby boy. We have named him Oscar.
Today we received a call about a someone wanting to surrender puppies from Tekamah. We declined the intake as we have no agreement or funding from Tekamah. An hour later someone brought a puppy in a box saying she found it in Blair. Her stories was full of lies, but she had a friend from Blair with her who filled out paperwork and we took the puppy.
The puppy is gravely ill. He is fighting for his life. We rushed him to the emergency vet. Our manager, who was supposed to be home with her family tonight, will now spend the evening at the emergency vet trying to help this puppy since its owners didn’t want to deal with it. She will pray the puppy makes it and pray we can raise enough money to pay for this bill.
We have talked to the original caller using caller ID to reach her and she admitted to the scheme to get rid of the one sick puppy. It make me physically ill and angry. We are mad at the owner and at the Blair resident who helped her lie to us.
But we must move forward. Oscar needs us and he is now a part of our family. We got you Oscar!! We got you.
Oscar has blood in his stool. Lethargic. Vomiting. And oh so tiny at 8 weeks of age. Our manager is by his side and they are doing everything they can to save his life. He will be hospitalized and most likely spend the weekend at the emergency vet clinic. We will be facing a bill north of $2,000 for this.
We have no choice but to help this sweet baby. Our ask to our amazing supporters is that you help us help this baby. We need to raise funds to cover this vet bill. We are terrified of the final number but know we can’t let him go without a fight.
Please donate anything you can. 100% will go directly to his medical care. Please also share share share so we can reach as many supporters as possible. Our hearts hurt tonight but we know is we have an amazing army behind us and that keeps us going.
Thank you for allowing us to do what we do. We will post updates as soon as we have any.
