🌟 What is Enrichment for Cats? 🌟

Enrichment means providing our cats with mental and physical stimulation to keep their curious minds and agile bodies active. It goes beyond just toys; it's about crafting a fulfilling environment for our feline friends! 🐱💖

🌟 Why is Enrichment Important? 🌟

1️⃣ Mental Stimulation: Cats are clever! Enrichment activities like puzzle feeders and interactive toys challenge their brains, helping to reduce boredom.

2️⃣ Physical Exercise: Keep your cats active and healthy with chances to climb, jump, and play.

3️⃣ Stress Reduction: Enrichment helps relieve stress and anxiety, making for a happier, more relaxed cat.

4️⃣ Bonding Time: Playing and engaging with your cat strengthens your bond and creates quality time together. 💕

Explore ideas like mealtime enrichment to make every moment exciting for your cat! 🐾

On this Veterans Day, we honor not only the heroes in uniform but also the loyal four-legged companions who served alongside them. 🐾✨

Military working dogs have shown unwavering loyalty, protection, and service, just like our veterans. Their bond with service members exemplifies the strength and courage of all who serve.

As a veterinary practice, we understand the special role that pets play in the lives of veterans and their families. Whether providing companionship, emotional support, or assistance, these pets are heroes, too.

To all who have served and continue to serve, thank you. Your service will never be forgotten. We are honored to care for you and your pets with the same dedication shown to our nation. 🇺🇸💙

🐾 FOUND DOG 🐾

A kind Good Samaritan brought this sweet pup to us to check for a microchip, but unfortunately, no chip was found. The collar they are wearing belongs to the Good Samaritan, not the dog.

If this is your pet or you recognize them, please contact us at East Market Veterinary Center as soon as possible at (724) 793-1779. Let’s help this pup find their way home! 🏡❤️

Please share to help us spread the word!

Nova had 16 teeth extracted during her recent dental procedure, and we’re happy to report she’s doing great! 🦷🐾 She’s on a soft diet and pain management, and her family is trying a new dental care routine to keep her remaining teeth healthy. 🪥 Dental disease is common in small dogs, so regular brushing or alternatives like dental diets, additives, or chews can help. We’re glad we could take great care of Nova! 💙

A lot of people asked how Nova’s dental went.

She had 16 teeth extracted, all (12) of her in incisors, 4 back molars.

But she is doing great! She’s on her NSAID for pain and anti-inflammatory and eating a soft diet for now.

She is 5 years old and this is her 3rd dental. First one with extractions.

Little dogs tend to be more prone to dental disease and periodontal disease.

Best practice is brushing teeth 3-5 times a week🪥.
But alternatives can be dental diet, food/water additives or chews.

Nova hates her teeth brushed and has shunned OraVet chews in the last year.

So we are trying out Plaque Off a food additive for our new at home dental care routine. Hopefully to keep her remaining teeth healthy and tartar free!

For all our little bodies clients - keep an eye on those teefers 🦷🪥

Huge shout out to East Market Veterinary Center for taking such great care of my girl!!! 🩷🦷

📢 Lost Item Alert 📢

Uh oh! It seems our Canine & Feline Dental Care book has gone missing, and we believe a client may have accidentally taken it home. 🐾 This book is meant for all our clients to browse while at East Market Veterinary Center, and unfortunately, we only have the one copy.

If you happen to have it, we’d love to have it back so everyone can benefit from it. 😊 No worries at all—just bring it by during your next visit or drop it off whenever you can.

Thank you for helping us out! 🐶🐱🦷
