Hello everyone,

Thank you all for your prayers. 🩷 We want to give you all an update about Bailey. She is at home doing much better, resting comfortably now. Both of her eyes are beginning to clear up. She is starting to wag her tail again & shows signs of getting back to the Bailey we all know & love!

Today we will be opening the shop around 1:00 pm. Bailey got in to an accident yesterday and she is at the vet right now. We ask for your prayers this morning for our precious Bailey.

Hey everyone this weekend is the Mountain, Music & Moonshine Festival in Blairsville. We are Bailey’s Barkery know you LOVE our cookies so we are going to have a tent right on the square with all of your favorites for fido & some new summer editions.

It is time for Pet of the Month:

Sir Re*****on came into the life of Jamie and Butch Luxenberger when he was only 7 weeks old from Lake Hartwell, SC.

“We saw pictures of him and fell in love with him instantly.” -Jamie

He is 3.5 years old and everything you could wish for. He has had formal behavioral training and loves to visit downtown establishments and play with Bailey. He has endless energy and has many friends that he plays with daily. He loves swimming in his stock tank pool, catching balls, long walks in parks and on trails. He makes friends with all creatures he meets and loves other animals and people, too. He loves to have “jobs“ to do and is a great helper to his mom and dad.

Jamie, Butch, His Nana Susan, Poppop Lee and their puppy Maddie could not imagine life without him. 🐾💙

Sir Re*****on will be receiving a birthday care package for being pet of the month. It will have everything necessary to celebrate his 4th birthday on October 9th.

We will be there selling cookies from 11-2 helping them celebrate their Customer Appreciation Day. They will have lots of goodies to offer & pets for adoption so everyone please come out & support them!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Rio. He was found wondering on Hwy76 in front of the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. His fosterer rescued him from the traffic and did due dilligence to find the owners. Currently he is living in an apartment, he loves the couch, or a chair, he goes for many walks with his elderly foster and is nothing but the best mannered boy. Lets talk about his fur, inside he looks black, but when you get him in the sun you can tell he is brown with black undertones. He is less than knee height, with big paws but I don't think he will much taller. He loves to watch TV and will be the best companion to anyone who will make him theirs. Since we just accepted him under our wing, he will be vetted soon and then will be UTD on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Oh and he loves to ride in the car! He goes everywhere with his fosterer.

I took too many pups into foster while the boss was on vacation, so I need everyone to help me find homes for them all! If you would like to meet Rio please fill out our online adoption application and lets get this boy his forever home! www.safepetproject.org/adoption-agreement

Come visit us at the Union County Farmers Market this Saturday, May 18th, from 11am to 3pm. We will be selling our cookies & will have some special hand crafted Pet Jewelry for sale. We will be there along with our friends at Safe Pet Project who are having their first annual Market Mutts, which is a fundraiser for Mountain Shelter. There will be low cost vaccinations available, $10.00 microchips, food trucks, pets allowed on a leash. Free give aways, dog adoptions & much more!

The downtown Spring Market was held last Saturday April 20, 2024. We had a booth beside our shop a long with Safe Pet Project and it was a huge success thanks to donations from good customers like you!
Bailey & Luna were available for petting & Clyde & Ellie from Safe Pet were there as well. If you are interested in adopting either Ellie or Clyde please contact The Mountain Shelter at 706-745-0033.
We will be participating in The First Annual Market Mutts, a Fundraiser For Mountain Shelter, to be held on May 18th from 11am-3Pm at the Union County Farmers Market.
We will be selling our famous cookies & treats as well as other items.
There will be a low cost vaccine clinic, dog adoptions & free giveaways.

It is time for Pet of the Month:
This month’s winner is a very special 11 year old yellow lab named Luna who is living her best life here in Blairsville, GA!
She is a Canine Good Citizen, certified and retired therapy dog.
Luna loves people, children, spending time on the water, hiking, camping, helping in the garden and spending time outdoors. She loves to play fetch and to spend time with her stuffed animal friends when it’s cold outside.

We at Bailey’s Barkery would like to salute both Luna & her mom Debra for their contributions to society. Just take a look around: they may be spotted anywhere on one of their adventures or extending a hand to someone. We are giving Debra a T-shirt from Bailey’s Barkery & Luna will receive a stuffed animal to add to her collection of friends.

We at Bailey's Barkery are honoring our neighbors & friends of four years at La La's Kitchen In The Mountains. Lissy, Alex, Bill,Maria & their son Danny have worked tirelessly to provide excellent food & a friendly atmosphere to our community. They will be greatly missed. Thanks, friends, for everything!

It is time for our February Pet of the Month! This month we are honoring Miss Lolly Mae Giglia! She hails from Tampa, FL, but is actually a (Georgia Peach), because she was brought to Tampa from Georgia by the Tampa Humane Society. She is a 7 year old Dachshund mix who was adopted when she was six months old. Her name fits her perfectly because she is extra sweet & loves to cuddle, especially at night. One funny thing she does is when she wants to go outside she “speaks” by chewing on one of her squeaky toys. She is definitely very verbal! During the holidays she loves to run under the x-mas tree when she gets excited.
