This is really what some days feel like! Spay and Neuter!!! Get Fixed is close and so reasonable! If you don’t qualify for the Sterilization Program, I can ask people to donate towards getting them fixed at Get Fixed. But we NEED to get this overpopulation crisis under control.

This cutie has been hanging out at a residence for a week already and I took him in after the Finder hit every dead end. He had a cute collar on but no info and no chip.

Meet Ash! This little guy came in with 3 siblings end of July and I took him and one sibling to a clinic to get surgery. This sweet boy was adopted. A few days later they refused to eat and became lethargic and his owner took him to the vet and there wasn’t really a clear sign what was going on. He nearly didn’t make it and unfortunately we lost his sibling overnight after doing antibiotics and sub q fluids and syringe feeding. But Ash is home now and the brand new owners have quite the vet bill so I offered to fundraise. You can donate directly to Newcastle Animal Hospital for ASH. You can let me know you donated so I can follow up and keep tabs are what was donated and what is needed but it’s around $700

It’s been a heartbreaking five days. In five days I have picked up three deceased dogs. Normally it’s one every 3-4 months. Two along Hwy 62 and one on Hwy 76. Two of them, I literally scooped off the road in pieces. Not one of these dogs has been called in as missing so assuming they were dumped. 3 dogs, scared and not knowing where they are, left behind and dying in the most awful way, all alone. It hurts my heart and even dead, I find myself apologizing to them because they did not deserve it. They don’t deserve to be discarded like that. I feel bad for the people that hit them, I’m sure they felt terrible too.

This very sweet boy got neutered and vaccinated today and says he is officially looking for his very own lap to snuggle on! He is good with other cats and dogs! And people of all ages

Found at Lions Park this morning. Still has milk but no pups were found. Scared of her own shadow. We are full

Myself and the Parks guys have looked. All that was found was some food left out

Black/white female lab mix picked up on Morgan and 7th. Finder will serve stray hold as shelter is full. No collar or chip. If you are missing a dog, please let us know.

These gorgeous babies thank everyone for the food donated! They aren’t quite interested in it since Momma keeps their bellies full but momma sure loves it! 4 days shy of being 4 weeks old. Momma is the sweetest. Kinda want to give her a home at my home!

Enjoying the catnip

Just a little catnip to start the day!

Possum

Possum has had ZERO interest! She shares her kennel with another pup because they get along so well but she would love her own home! With or without other dogs, she loves people of all ages! She would make a great apartment dog also but a backyard with a doggie pool would be great! She is spayed and vaccinated. Vet aged her at 7-8 months old. She has met 3 other shelter dogs and has done great. She also met a kitten, licked it and then really wasn’t interested in it. She is available for adoption.

New babies!

These 6 sets of toe beans came in last week with their feral momma. All hissy and what not. Not quite as hissy now but they sure got fiesty eating their first big kitty meal! Working with momma and while she hasn’t hissed or growled, she is still uncertain of humans. Babies are getting used to my dog and will be well socialized, once old enough, they will be placed up for adoption, momma will be spayed and can either go to a barn or mouse in the shelter shed.

WILL BE POSTING AN UPDATE SOON! The sadness of a dog left behind. But it wasn’t even their dog to begin with. They helped a friend who never came back for him. They kept him while trying to find a new home so of course he believed he had a home. He tried escaping through the truck window that was barely open, just enough for a fresh breeze while I drove him to the shelter. He lost it while walking him in. Alligator rolling and trying to chew the leash. And now day two at the shelter, he is terrified and shut down. His original owner failed him and I hope they don’t ever get to experience the love of a dog. The people who he was dumped on tried but ultimately he landed himself at the shelter. This is Bowie. He was failed by the person who gave up on him when the cute puppy phase ended.
