Mooncake 💙 Mooncake came to us as a stray and was never claimed. He is about 3-5 years old, now neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He is 72 pounds and done growing. Mooncake is so sweet and gentle.

Mooncake is $20 to adopt now through Friday. Remember that $20 will not be all that they cost throughout their whole life. They will still need routine vet care, food, and supplies.

S.O.S.!! These 2 puppies are in the Lex "shelter". They were reportedly abandoned by their owners.

We are deeply concerned about the conditions of the building and that they could be euthanized at any time, without notice.

‼Xena Update

Xena, as you will recall, had a deadline post and was adopted by a very sweet family. Unfortunately, Xena did not do well at all with their cats. They said she was wonderful in every other way with the kids and other dogs. She is back at the shelter and in need of a new adopter. We now know that she cannot go to a home with cats. Her fee is waived, and she is ready to go!

Here’s how it works:
• Text our schedule line and let us know what kind of appointment you need.
• We will call you to schedule your per's surgery when it’s your turn on our waiting list. (Please be patient since our spay/neuter services are in extremely high demand!!)
• When we call to schedule your appointment we will give you instructions for your pet and provide you with a drop-off time.
• Check in at our clinic the morning of your appointment.
• We will ask what additional services you would like. We offer vaccinations, pain medication, e-collars, flea/tick medication and more.
• You will pay for your pet’s services.
• We will let you know when to return to pick up your pet.
• We will release your pet to you with aftercare instructions.

We are over capacity and in need of adoptions to create space. As intake of strays has increased over the past week without owner reclaims, and a decrease in adoptions, this puts dogs at risk for euthanasia. In particular we have Poco. Poco is a wonderful dog who would make a great pet for someone. Unfortunately, Poco gets anxiety in the kennels and chews them up, making adjacent kennels unusable and creating less space for other animals to have an opportunity at adoption. If you have been thinking about a sweet medium sized dog, we would love for you to consider Poco. Poco has been dog tested and was a little tense and offered a low growl. We would recommend he meet your dog before adoption and would facilitate that introduction.

Poco is approximately 4years old, and 40lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

🌟ADOPT PIGLET🌟

This sweet girl is 11 weeks old and the biggest cuddle bug you’ve ever met! Piglet is crate trained and doing great at potty training! Piglet loves playing with her foster brothers and sisters and she loves kids! Piglet loves her kiddy pool and playing with toys! I have so many things I love about piglet but my favorite is her little waddle she does when she gets excited to see you! Piglet would make the best addition to any family!

"I just wanted to share our fly jar. We've been doing this for two summers and it works better than anything else we have tried. You poke small holes in a jar and put syrup and 2 cut up hot dogs in the jar. The flies flock to it like crazy. This has only been out a little over a week and I will have to make a new one soon. There is no smell to it and nothing will harm your pets. But I hate having flies buzzing around when I sit on my back porch."
