Less than two weeks until opening day of Wisconsin’s gun deer season!

We'd like to welcome back Naturally Wild Taxidermy to the Top Gun Bluing & Repair 3rd Annual Check Station Party. Matt and Meghan McKenna have been great supporters of the party since day 1. This year they will be donating a shoulder mount for highest scoring overall buck and a shoulder mount for the highest scoring youth hunter. I can't thank them enough for always being there to support Top Gun Bluing and Repair, LLC and the tournament.

The rut is in full swing now! Big bucks are with does and the ones that aren’t with them are looking for does. Plenty of daytime activity. Now is the time to be in your stand. Only a little over two weeks until gun season. Good luck hunters!

The rut is getting closer every day! Bucks are moving more at night making scrapes and getting more aggressive towards other bucks. Light rattling and grunting are enticing their curiosity. They are going to start making more daytime appearances and the time of the year that mature bucks will start making mistakes is almost here. Hopefully some of us will be able to capitalize on those mistakes. Enjoy your time in the woods! Good luck and be safe!

This summer has flown by. Hard to believe that hunting seasons are starting to open up in Wisconsin already!! With Wisconsin’s bear season opening I wanted to wish all of the bear hunters a safe and successful season! If you harvest a bear this season and would like to preserve the memory of your hunt please send me a message or give me a call at (608) 290-2789. Remember that if you plan to mount your bear to treat the hide the same as you would your meat. Spoilage can happen quickly with warm temperatures. Good luck!
