This summer has flown by. Hard to believe that hunting seasons are starting to open up in Wisconsin already!! With Wisconsin’s bear season opening I wanted to wish all of the bear hunters a safe and successful season! If you harvest a bear this season and would like to preserve the memory of your hunt please send me a message or give me a call at (608) 290-2789. Remember that if you plan to mount your bear to treat the hide the same as you would your meat. Spoilage can happen quickly with warm temperatures. Good luck!

I would like to thank Top Gun Bluing and Repair, LLC for organizing the First Annual Check Station party at the Argyle Rod and Gun this past Saturday evening! The feedback I have received from this event has been amazing! Everyone I have talked to said they had a great time! Getting together with friends and family, telling stories and getting to see all of the nice deer everyone brought in made for a great night full of fun! Congratulations to all of the winners!! There were a lot of great prizes given away! Take a few minutes to watch the video that was put together of the event! We’re already looking forward to next year!!

Here’s another nice whitetail that went home! The bucks are really moving now! This cold front that’s coming through tonight will get all of the deer on their feet. Happy hunting! Only a little over a week until Illinois and Wisconsin gun seasons open! Remember to check out the First Annual Check Station party opening day of Wisconsin’s gun season! Any deer legally harvested in Wisconsin on opening day is eligible to win some great prizes! You just need to bring your deer to the Argyle Rod and Gun on opening evening between 6pm and 10pm. Hope to see everyone there!!
