With Season coming up, we’ve decided to make a few changes...
*When you drop off your animal, you will be given a receipt. This will show the date you dropped off as well as the estimated date for completion. Please DO NOT call, text or SOCIAL MEDIA me before that time frame has ended, asking if your mount is ready. I spend a good portion of my day just answering these types of questions. I cannot continue to do this! If you have changes to your mount, then reach out to me…but please don’t call, text or SOCIAL MEDIA me to find out when your mount will be ready.
*Payment in full will be required on all Dry Tans and European mounts. These are the two things that end up sitting in my shop for months collecting dust. They take up much needed space and leave me with a large amount of money out of my pocket that isn’t getting paid.
*My tannery is behind on getting Dry Tans out. They were affected by the Kerrville flood and are now playing catch up. The tannery, as well as most taxidermists, had a record season last year, so with that and the flood, they got behind. Please know that we have no control over this before dropping off your hides. I will no longer be giving an estimated time frame on dry tans.
*If financial issues arise, as they do for all of us, please reach out to me and let me know. I am happy to hold off on mounting your animal until you are able to pay. I do not have the room in my shop to store completed mounts. Payment and pick up is due upon completion, unless other arrangements have been made.
*We will now charge a fee on all animals brought in that are rotten. It makes boiling the heads harder, it causes greasing issues with the skulls and it also discolors the skulls, so they don’t always whiten very well. The gagging and puking is also an issue…
*Please call before showing up at the shop. This is not my primary residence so I’m not there 24hrs a day.
*We have a rack full of soft tanned Axis hides for sale. Christmas is coming up and they make great gifts!
Pictured – A life-size Black Coyote that my daughter and wife recently mounted. It was shot in Kendalia. Pictures don’t do this one justice!
