Armadillidium vulgare “St. Lucia”. This morph is also commonly called “Jelly Beans” for their unique variation of colors from dark grays and browns to deep reds, bright yellows and oranges. We have St. Lucia’s and other Armadillidium species available on our website.

We have a few new projects in the works. These are “Black Tiger” Hissing Cockroaches (Gromphadorhina grandidier). They’re HUGE! They’re also quite vocal and hiss like crazy as soon as you open their enclosure. We’re hoping to have some offspring available soon.

Armadillo officinalis “Reds” are about to hit the website soon along with a handful of other isopod species we have been working with lately.

Armadillo officinalis are a red color mutation of the wild type officinalis. They are born white but turn orange as they age and eventually a deep red as they reach maturity. They are a very large isopod species that gets the name “Armadillo” from their self-defense mechanism of rolling into a tight ball when sensing danger. In addition to rolling up into a ball, groups of officinalis also display an audible hissing behavior when threatened, making them a very unique species.
