National Dog Day. Piper on the left and Ice on the right.
A bit chilly to work outside today.
This is Stella, a 10 month old GSP during her second time out in the field. The wind was helpful for her to experience success. A few more things to work on to be a great hunting companion.
It is a beautiful thing to see a hunting breed work and make progress.
Tarps, leaves, balls, and a Lab. Nothing but fun.
After the training: The Reality.
Piper would do this all night long. She has figured out that she needs to "toss" the ball to me for the game to continue.
Here is a short video of Midnight taking the next step with his "Leave it" command. This was his third attempt at this difficulty level. Great job!!
Lexi's post walk swim. Every time.
Ice and Piper supporting Lexi in her rehab.
Some of the physical therapy that Lexi is doing to build her strength.
Almost five weeks post-op. Lexi's second physical therapy appointment showed great progress. Next week she will move to two sessions a week. This session was 10 minutes in the tank and Wednesday will be 15 minutes. She is able to step over small objects and walk in a figure eight which helps the leg movement. Very little limping and her muscle mass is returning . We are very excited about her progress.
23 days post op. and Lexi's first physical therapy appointment went quite well. We have a few daily exercises to do at home as well as the range of motion work to do. She is progressing nicely.
Piper loves to play with her ball.
In this video, notice Piper, the chocolate, didplaying a "play bow", inviting Ice to play. This a very common way for dogs to communicate with each other. At first, Ice curls away, perhaps showing that she is not interested. Piper persists and Ice quickly joins in. And the mutual fun begins.
The latest task that Ice has been working on. Her "heel" command . A bit distracted on the way to me, but a good finish. As she becomes more consistent I will work on a more perfect finish. A great example of breaking down a large task into smaller steps.
Congratulations to Oliver for his successful completion of his Basic Puppy Obedience Class. He has built his confidence to the point that he hopped up on the trampoline. Great work Oliver!!
Piper working on long distance recall. Good response to "come". A few times she ran past me, she needs more work but good for 9 months old.
Working hard on our remote sit and stay. Good job girls.
A training moment today. It seems as if Lexi was not in the mood to work. Good job everyone.
