POWERHOUSE STORM 2.0 FRIDAY NIGHT & NEXT WEEK PATTERN

Yet another insane storm arrives Friday evening for January standards. This storm is basically a carbon copy of what we went through last night. The structure of the upper level pattern, the surface low riding near the Great Lakes, blizzard conditions near Chicago, intense tornadoes in the south, pounding rain here at home, and a low level jet overhead near 80-90 mph!

If you are cleaning up from flooding, DO NOT put anything back. If you are just getting power back, be prepare for possibly losing it again Friday night. Very impressive the tidal flooding along the Delaware River from Philadelphia to Burlington was historic cresting higher than Sandy and Ida!

TIMING & KEY POINTS:
-a little later than the past storm, arrives after the evening rush Friday, more like 7-9pm
-faster moving and out by Saturday morning
-3/4" -1.5" of rain
-wind gusts between 45-55 mph for several hours
-flooding equally as bad as this past storm. Even with lower additional rain totals, the ground and waterways are higher than before this past storm
-wind damage and power outs equally as bad. Trees are further weakened so this could be the straw that breaks the camels back.

AS FOR TUESDAY'S SOCIAL MEDIA SNOWSTORM....
way too early to speculate...yes a chance, but many emsembles are weak, out to sea, and the cold overpowers the pattern for a closed low along the coast. The NAO is going positive, the PNA is neutral, and the 500mb flow is zonal. All go against a big snow...but we will see...chat over the weekend if it is needed. Let's get through this storm first...it is more of a problem than snow...it will be VERY cold no matter
