All Aether wants for Christmas is……a home! Aether, 3 month old female, came in as a transfer from Empire Animal Rescue Society (EARS) on November 4th. This precious gift tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), making it much harder for her to find a home. The common misconception is that FeLV is a horrible disease. While it is a lifelong condition, it simply means her immune system is compromised so illnesses must be treated asap as her body cannot fight off infection as well. Aether will need to be in a home with no other cats or only cats with FeLV. The illness is not transferable to dogs. She currently resides in our Director of Operations’ office. Will you make her wish come true? ❤️🎄💚

Tonight at Ten Lives Club was a very emotional moment when at our Buffalo airport the Wings of Rescue and Friends of Strays Animal Shelter arrived with 33 cats from St Pete’s in Florida thanks to the coordination of Slomba Shelter Solutions. This animal rescue was impacted by the hurricane and had bad flooding in their shelter. So many cat and dog rescues were hit by the two back to back hurricanes and all needed immediate help. It is truly great other groups in WNY and all around the USA stepped up to help! TLC was happy we could help. It’s all about saving lives. No matter WHERE the cats are from. It broke all of our hearts knowing these cats went through so much…being in a shelter, dealing with the awful hurricane that shook their building, put on a plane that actually experienced turbulence on the flight, and then in cars driven to our shelter and settled in a new place. The pilots and their team who gave up their whole day to get these cats to safety are true heroes! After ten minutes of unloading these cats they went back on the plane to return to Florida. We gave them TLC shirts and of course sent them home with Buffalo chicken wings. We thank everyone who supports TLC and know that our organization is all about helping our local community and other rescues when we can! Tomorrow we will post the cats who are now Buffalo cats!
