28.5" of badassery halfway done. Huge shoulders. Big gut. Philadelphia Collins would be proud. 13-14lb class Mustard Tiger. Can't wait to see the mold when I crack it open tomorrow. Can I get a baam, followers???
I truly couldn't be happier with how this fish mold and cast came out. This is the reverse curve side, but I liked it best for the look I have in mind for it. I'll attach the Pectoral fin once everything is painted and heat some shape into them as well. It's set in place for video purposes only here.
This 36x21 Male Brown Trout was in full spawn. There are no actual scales present on him now, only skin. Its wrinkled surface is marred with teeth scrapes, gravel marks, and everything else it encountered, but to me, it's beautiful and gnarly and awesome. From the top of the head to the fin edges. Details all over. The antiqued blank really shows testament to this and how cool it's going to be to paint on him when the time comes.
That hand painted eye that's set with my @kleiusa epoxy will really set it off once finished!!
Please enjoy.
A week ago Sunday, I was setting trout out to mold for the week, and POP! My back went out. Luckily, my significant other Dakotah was in the house and was able to run me to the emergency room! She took great care of me as I rested it all week, and Friday I was able to get some painting done, but not a lot. I'm back in the shop this week and cranking out some fish. I have a ton of Walleye coming up. Both skinmount and replicas. Here is a big custom mold and cast Walleye replica being scale tipped with some interference gold. Hope you enjoy it. I'll post a video or pictures of it once it's finished up for the very patient customer.
Tipping with Champions Choice Pale Gold and Pearl. Will post them in comments. Hopefully fb doesn't alter the video quality. It's a cool looking fish...
Smallmouth video I forgot I took. Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend, folks!!
Again, big thanks to Dave Campbell for the blank, Steve Silseth for the eyes, and Klei for my epoxy.
