We really hope this will help with our pet/stray overpopulation problem in Greene County. We urge you to check them out for routine services. If you do take your pet there for vaccines, please let us know so we can update your pet’s reminders. Also keep in mind that all your pets will need to remain up to date on an exam with us annually in order for us to legally prescribe medications and prescription preventatives.
Exciting Day! Today we had the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Pets Alive at our location! A lot of work has gone into making this a reality and we are so glad that they are now fully operational!
PetsAlive is a non-profit spay/neuter clinic that will provide spay/neuter services to Greene County and surrounding communities as well as Wellness Clinics that will offer vaccinations.
They will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and offer spay/neuter surgeries by appointment. The Wellness Clinics will be on the same days from 4PM - 6:30PM and be available by walk-in.
To schedule an appointment, call (812) 349-1349 and make sure to mention that you want to schedule at the Greene County location.
PetsAlive is in the same building as us, located at 1026 N 1375 W, Linton, IN 47441. They are utilizing the south section of the building, their entrance is through the south door.
We are so excited to bring this opportunity to our community! Spay/Neuter is the #1 way to prevent homeless and unwanted animals!
We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our staff, volunteers, board members, and everyone else who had a part in making this a reality. To make room for PetsAlive, we had to rearrange all of our offices, surgery suite, break room, and more. We also had to install new areas for meet & greet, cat quarantine, and food storage in addition to remodeling an area to create a lobby and exam rooms for them. Hundreds of hours of work have gone into this project over the past 4 months, and most of it has been done by our staff and volunteers! We will post pictures soon of the finished areas and the progress leading up to it!
We also want to thank the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce for coming out to the ribbon cutting!
No one has claimed this handsome fella, so he is going up for adoption. He has been neutered, received his 1st round of vaccinations, and has been treated for fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites for the month. Contact Heal during business hours if you are interested in giving him a good home. He is super friendly and seems to get along with dogs and cats as far as we can tell.
Roads and sidewalks will start to become icy as we get into the weekend, a common de-icing product contains sodium chloride which helps prevent build up of ice on the roadways/sidewalks.
Rock salt is very dangerous to our pets, especially when licked or ingested from their paws and fur.
Salt poisoning symptoms could include, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and drooling.
If you suspect your pet has ingested rock salt please contact us or an emergency clinic, if it’s not within our business hours.
Please use PET SAFE deicing products this winter season! It could save lives! 🐾

Goodbye 2023! Thank you all for an amazing year, we can’t wait to see what 2024 brings. We wish you a Happy New Year, stay safe! 🥳🐾
We will be closed Monday, January 1st. We will reopen with normal business hours Tuesday, January 2nd.
Update: unfortunately, this girl’s injuries were beyond repair. Due to her severe pelvic fracture, she was not able to urinate or defecate. We made the difficult decision to let her go peacefully this morning. We’re all heartbroken, but we are glad she did not have to suffer, and that she knew love and comfort in her final hours. Thank you to the family that found her and brought her to us for help! Also, thank you to those that have reached out to offer donations for her care. It’s because of people like you that we are able to do what we love to do the most, to help those that can’t help themselves. 🥹💔
This sweet girl was found hit by a car, shivering in the median of I-69. She is injured but stable. Luckily a nice family traveling across the country stopped to help her. We’d love to find her owners if we can. Please share to help her get home. We are also taking donations for her care if you’d like to contribute. If her owners aren’t located, she may be up for adoption, but she is rapidly weaseling her way way into all our hearts. She is THE SWEETEST! 💕
Merry Christmas from our family to yours ❤️🎄
We will be closed Monday 12/25, and will reopen Tuesday 12/26.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏽

They are not at Heal, but if you are interested, please give us a call during business hours and we can get you in contact with her rescuer. She is SUPER affectionate! 💕

This cute pup was found near Bloomfield school on John St. He was dodging traffic. Please contact us at Heal to claim him.
This guy was brought in as a stray and matted to the bones. We had to give him a ridiculous hair cut when we neutered him. We planned to find him a home once he looked more presentable, but I’m not sure he will ever want to leave Heal! He will be gorgeous once his hair grows back. 💕
Update: (Warning: controversial post) Her owners showed up at the last minute today with a single $1 to pay their bill, but clearly under the influence of illegal substances. People often think having to euthanize animals is the hardest part of veterinary medicine. I wish this were true. The reality is that the hardest parts of this profession are caring more about people’s pets than they do, wanting to help, but being taken advantage of, having to send pets with owners that you know will not take care of them, needing help but not being able to find it from the local affiliates that are in place for circumstances just like these. WE ARE SOOOOOO GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT CALLED OR MESSAGED WILLING TO HELP US WITH THIS SWEET GIRL AND FOR THE HEAL FUNDS YOU HAVE PROVIDED THAT MADE CARING FOR HER POSSIBLE. You all are amazing! Thank you! In the end, all we can do is care for the pet to the best of our ability and PRAY the pet is taken care of after it leaves our care. Thank you, also, to the many wonderful pet parents that care for their pets. We are grateful for you too! This amazingly sweet and smart girl was dumped here a week ago. We treated her for Parvo and the owners never returned to get her. She is 💯 healthy now and needs a home to take care of her! We are closing for the weekend at 5:00 today and have NOWHERE for her to go. We’ve exhausted all options including all local humane societies, the police department and local rescues. No one is able to help her. Please help her!
Meet Green! Click to see his video! He is the shyest of the bunch but is so sweet! He will be 7 weeks on Friday, is neutered and has had his 1st round of vaccinations. His adoption fee is $25 and applications can be picked up from Heal during business hours.
Orange is so cute! See the video? She is the second smallest of the litter but it doesn’t slow her down! She will be 7 weeks old on Friday, is spayed and has had her 1st round of vaccinations. For $25 and an approved application, she can be yours!
Meet Red! Click to watch the video! He is the biggest of the litter and LOVES to eat! He will be 7 weeks on Friday, is neutered and has had his 1st round of vaccinations. For $25 and an approved application, you can take him home to waller in his soft fur for the rest of his life! 💕
This is Lavender! Watch the video! She is such a lover! Can she go home to snuggle with you? She will be 7 weeks old on Friday. Is spayed and has had her 1st round of vaccinations. $25 adoption fee. Applications available at Heal during business hours.
This girl is doing so well! She is still a little Leary of being picked up, but she LOVES ear rubs and bum scratches. She would make a great outdoor kitty if she’s unable to find an indoor home. Surely someone needs a barn kitty?!?! She’s spayed and vaccinated. Free to a good home.
🎶All you need is love🎶 This kitty came in YESTERDAY, feral, in a live trap, hissing, spitting, lunging and terrified. She was spayed, vaccinated and placed in a kennel so we could show her some love and give her a chance at a having a good life off the streets. Isn’t it amazing what just a little love (and lots of canned food😉) will do!?!?! She still doesn’t trust us enough to be picked up, but with the progress she’s made in less than a day, we know she will come around. Would someone be willing to continue to show her the love she deserves?
This fellow still hasn’t found his owners. Someone must be missing him. He is super cute and appears to be potty trained. Is he yours?
This handsome fellow is still at Heal looking for his owners. Please share to get him home. He will be going to the Greene County Humane Society tomorrow if not claimed.
