Pet Of The Week
Zeus Schmidt
July 29, 2024-August 5, 2024
Hi everybody! My name is Zeus. I am a Yorkie; I am six years old; and I was adopted. I found my forever home only two months ago. I was living with my foster mommy and a bunch of other dogs and, would you believe, a pot-bellied pig named Charlie! One day this nice lady and man came to see me. I wasn’t sure why, but then a few days later they took me to their home. I was confused and kinda scared of the man cause he’s a big guy and I’m just a little dude, but they were very nice to me. I was sad when they brought me back to my foster mommy. I didn’t understand why they did that, but a few days later, guess what, they came back for me, and I ran as fast as I could and jumped into their car. They brought me back to their house and they told me that this was going to be my forever home. Yaaaaay! I had a new mommy, a new daddy, and a big house to call my own. I learned very quickly that my new daddy, the big guy, isn’t so scary after all. He takes me outside and we play with my ball. He gives me lots of belly rubs and scratches my ears, and we take naps together on the couch. I love my daddy. The nice lady is now my mommy. I spend lots of time with my mommy. I sit next to her when she works on the computer, and I put my head in her lap. She makes sure that I get lots of good food, and some really great treats every day. I love my mommy, too.
My fur parents bought me a brand-new bed and blankie and I have lots of new toys. I really like to play with my “stuffy rabbit” even though he has no stuffing in him. He has lots of squeakers and I love making them squeak. I also like playing with my tennis balls. Daddy throws them and I run so fast to get them, but I don’t always bring them back to him . . . lol.
Want to hear some of the neat tricks I know? I know how to sit, and lay down, and I can even sit up. Mommy is teaching me to give a paw and to ring bells when I have to go potty.
I am so very very cute! Mommy tells me that all the time, and she says that I look just like her teddy bears.
As cute as I am, I can be very naughty sometimes especially when Mommy uses the printer or sends the Roomba thingie out to vacuum. I have to protect my mommy and daddy from them, so I bark and carry on so badly that the printer spits out paper that I try to grab and tear to pieces and the Roomba tries to hide. I am mommy and daddy’s protector. Daddy says that I am a big dog in a little body.
And then there are the chipmunks . . . When I see or hear them, I bark and bark and bark and I just want to catch one so I can love him and squeeze him and call him George. . . lol! I just can’t help it! I want one!
Now you know a bit about me. I hope you enjoyed my story! See ya!
