I wanted to update all of our clients on my current medical situation and what it means for Paws to the Wall, LLC.

I’ve been home from the hospital for a few days now in recovery. A portion of my foot did need to be amputated off and I have a very rare form of infection that was in my bones and it’s what caused me to go septic at a prior time when the business was closed before. I have been battling with this since November, but we did not uncover it even being a foot thing until two weeks ago and found out about the infection just over a week ago. Two days after my MRI my doctor called me at the Grooming shop on the business phone and told me to be at the hospital in five hours for amputation surgery, and if we waited, it could be my whole leg or my life.
I quickly started to put things in place to close the shop and get to the hospital. I was there a week. The amputation is healing very well, but the infection is still there …probably. So I had to get a picc line (long-term IV) and I have to administrate my IV antibiotics 24 hours 7 days a week for 8 weeks.

What this means for Paws to the Wall, LLC -

Due to having an IV, it is not safe for me to work with the dogs until my Picc line is out. It can cause some very serious infections in my heart valves.
So all FULL HAIR CUTS will be placed on the schedule for 8 weeks and later.
I have 3 amazing girls that will be taking care of the clients and we are opening back up on Wednesday 2/19/2025, but I am calling/texting about 100 people back today and tomorrow to place them on the schedule.
The services that we can provide until I am back in the salon are followed:

Baths
De-Desheds
Ear Cleaning
Ear Plucking
Nail Trimming
Nail Grinding
Brush Outs
Blow Outs
Paw Trimming
Santi Area Trimming
Eye Clean Outs (hair and/or gooky under eyes
A**l Glands

Basically all services we ever provide except FULL HAIR CUTS. We will be able to do that when I am back in 8 weeks.

Thank you so much for your understanding and patience while I get through my recovery! We love each one of you and your fur babies! Showing your support and allowing the girls here to pamper your babies means so much to me! And will allow us to stay open at this time.

Update:
I came back to work for a few days. I did my MRI on Monday. On Monday & Tuesday I was trying to get in touch with my doctor for more antibiotic because the infection was getting bad again  and I had been out of antibiotics for days. When the doctor got the message, he decided to go look at the results of the MRI first before giving me more antibiotics. Based on what he saw, he decided to call me himself and told me I needed to get everything together and go to the hospital. We needed to do surgery right away.  I was shocked!!!! He amputated a portion of my foot and toe. And I really had no time at all to call the clients. I’m so sorry!!!!!!! I couldn’t call the ones back that we took messages for or the ones still from when I was in the hospital before.

I just had a client asked me what in the world do you do with these dogs here that makes them so happy to come in! lol 🤣 SOOOOOO many dogs go HAM when they get here to run through my gates!!  I told the clients I love when the dogs do that AND I love my job just as much as they love coming here!!!  all I do is try to make the dogs happy 😊  that’s all you have to do!! Some may hate a haircut or Bath too, but everything else is so much fun & awesome that they forgive and let it go! 🤣🐾🥰

How I can handle paying you TODAY is pay you $10 per dog you wash and just pay you per job I give you!  You can make up to so much without having taxes taken out or me even turning it in, so I will be able to pay you cash today.  If you work here anymore than today we will discuss everything later.

I have a bum leg and a lot of business I could bring in and have here already. I NEED SOME ONE NOW with in 1 hour. If it’s more than one hour still call me , if I don’t have anybody, I still need somebody!

 I have a great assistant during the week who is not obligated to work weekends! Need a Saturday person asap!

I am doing better! (It’s Heather the Owner/Groomer) There is a road a head of me, but hopefully not a long one! 21 years ago when I went through this, it was a long long road. It was awful.  But a lot of that had to do with having the wrong doctor for 6 surgeries to clear out the Bones.
 I am so happy that my specialist did not retire,  he is the one that went in the 7th time, but his only 1st time and removed everything  that was needed in order to finally move on past it. 
 The first surgeon that went in 6 different times, and when it never worked, and the infection was still there, he said  “well, nothing more WE can do but to amputate your foot”…. lol I chuckle now, but it was not funny at all back then….
 I have some good parents and that’s when they really pulled the pin and said absolutely not without a second opinion. We tried to get a second opinion before then, but the insurance company did not want to pay for another doctor that was not the “  trauma On-Call surgeon”  to the original  injuries & surgeries from the accident.
 I got the BEST orthopedic surgeon around who also worked with the BEST Infectious disease specialist, one surgery and then it was over and I went into adulthood…  problems have arise over the years, but no infection until now.

Something really cool though I’d like to share - so my surgeon took x-rays last week. He’s got x-rays from 21 years ago where he took out a lot of bone that’s the story above, but there was even another surgery in 2019 (my 15th  total surgery on my leg/foot) in 2019. There was a lot of work done at one time, one being a lot of bone cut out due to another cause  that was not infection at that time. 
 before my doctor even came to see me in his office after nurses left, he was checking out the x-rays that they had already done  before coming in to see me. When he comes into the room, he has two printouts, one the x-ray of the 2019 postop and the current x ray. He stated, so this is something that does happen  but I have never seen it happen this much much! YOUR BONE GREW BACK!!!  it was plain of day absolutely was not there, GONE!  and today, a big bone! 🦴 lol
I’m immortal YALL!!  I knew I was a little different…. lol 😂  joke!  But yeah, my bone grew back, and he said that’s why all this has happened!

Wanted to update all of my clients who may have not talked to anyone yet. I have been in and out the hospital a few times recently. I didn’t know what was going on until now. My rare bone infection I had when I was 16 is back after 21 years. They said back then it could come back a year from now or even 20 year later. I thought that was crazy and here I am.
I’m trying to get better and get back to work. I will call everyone back that leaves a voicemail.

Good Morning EVERYONE! It’s been a little while since I could post on here! We were SOOO slammed during the holidays starting right before Thanksgiving! And then I had my annual holiday vacation! It was awesome and much needed!! But I did start to miss everyone and was ready to come back this week!

I wanted to THANK EVERYONE that came in just before the holidays! So many wonderful clients were SO GENEROUS with their tips and gifts!! It was the best Christmas because of all of you! I felt so grateful and appreciated! I even got emotional a couple times because this business has gone through so much before making the move 2 years ago and it’s because of my loyal great clients that allowed me to continue to do what I love, lovin’ on & making your fur babies beautiful, healthy, and smellin’ good!!

***Important Message To All Of Our Clients***
If your Fur Baby(s) will need grooming the end of this month (November) or in December and you DON’T have an appointment already please call us in the next few days to get on our schedule.
This is so important because we will be booked for the rest of the year very soon. There will be a lot of people calling because they cannot get in with other groomers around the holidays and I want to make sure my regular clients can get an appointment. I can call people in when others have to reschedule, cancel, or do not confirm their appointments but I can not over book.
