It’s taken me a long time to write this, 5 weeks to be exact, but on October 20th, sweet Ellie went back to the stars 💫 I had the honor of knowing her for 14 years and saw her 3-5 times per week for her entire life; she was like family. I met her when she was 6 months old and right away, I knew she was special. Most puppies are zooming around, creating (adorable) chaos but not Ellie! She was always sitting beside a human, calmly watching. She had the most soulful eyes and the way she looked at you, made you feel as if she had a deep understanding of what you were saying to her. I’ll miss the way she would watch me walk to my car from the window after our walks, the way she lovingly raised over a dozen foster siblings (including Montana, who became her sister and caretaker) and the way she always found a sunny spot to nap in. Her missing presence at the daycare has been tough. She made every one of our team member’s smile with her easy going demeanor and love of the hose. My heart will never stop aching from missing her. I believe that the pain we feel from losing dogs is a testament to how they truly touch our souls. I love you forever Ellie Mae ❤️ -Ellen
