This happened at my salon, Studio K-9, and Fabulous Fur too!
Extrememly disrespectual, unprofessional, shameful, rude, and not Bloomington at all. This man, Michael Fitzgerald, has owned more than a dozen successful businesses and is a multi-millionaire, according to Bloomingpedia. He, of anyone, should know Bloomington flourishes with healthy local businesses and clearly doesn't need to steal from other local businesses to gain more wealth. If his grooming business is failing to the point of trying to eliminate competition via scalping their staff, perhaps he should focus on the businesses he's good at and leave the grooming to us ๐
So, this just happened to me and my staff at our facility in our community of Bloomington. As a local business owner to another local business owner, we all know the blood sweat and tears that goes into owning and running a business. So, I emailed a stern letter of disappointment to BLOOMINGPAWS for their lack of RESPECT to others in Bloomington.
My name is Kristal Oldfield and I am the owner of The Bone Yard Pet Shop. One of your employees or someone that represents your business, (an elderly man) just came into my shop trying to poach my employees, specifically my groomers. He walked past my desk not even acknowledging me and walked straight towards the back of my shop with several papers in his hand. He then proceeded to ask my groomers if they were in need of a job and that he was from Bloomingpaws and they were hiring and would my staff be interested. When I asked him what his name was, of course he refused to tell me. I then told him to leave my shop and never come back again.
Who in their right mind, tries to solicit current employees from other local groom shops or local business owners? Do you have no moral code, ethics or dignity? DON'T ever send anyone that represents your business (BLOOMINGPAWS) to my shop ever again to poach my employees.!! SHAME ON YOU!!
If you're having a staffing problem, I'd say you should start from the top and find out what the internal problem is inside your business and what you're doing wrong. Or, maybe offer a training program and invest your time in your own business and not try and steal what others have created!!!!
This breaks every rule of what good businesses are built on and more IMPORTATNLY, You just broke the GOLDEN RULE in life, treat others as you would want to be treated. HOW SHAMEFUL AND DISAPPOINTING!! ๐ก "edited, we now know it was Michael Fitzgerald, owner!!"
