I’m very excited to introduce Ricci Medlock as our next addition to the ACB team! Ricci has an extensive background in nursing, office administration, and horse boarding. Ricci loves horses and dogs. She has a high drive Malinois and Doberman, Reddik and Raven, with whom she continues training. Ricci helps with kennel upkeep, dog care, and whatever may need attention to keep our facility and property sparkling gorgeous! She will also be the office liaison for drop offs and pickups and make sure arrivals and departures go smoothly. Ricci’s keen eye for ideal process flow has already yielded a few excellent improvements. Please help me welcome Ricci to the team!

My competition female Hexe and I earned 4th place at the IGP MidEast Regional Championship this weekend! This is a huge success considering that she will turn 8 years old on Tuesday. This sport is pretty demanding on their bodies, so for my dog to pull this off so nicely at 8 speaks for how amazing of a dog she is. She has 10 completed IGP3 titles to her name now. She is a spayed female, and they tend to wash out in the sport and here she is, roaring in her senior age, with consistence and reliability- every time. That speaks for her very excellent foundation work! Not only did we earn 4th place with 93/100 in tracking, 93/100 in obedience, and 92/100 in protection. In performing this well, we also qualified for the IGP3 national championship in Connecticut in November this year!

I’d like to express a huge thank you to all my wonderful clients whom I put on hold in private lessons and group classes the last two weeks to prepare for this big championship. Your patience and flexibility means a lot to me! Also a huge Thanks to the lovely people who work with me who kept the store open while I was getting some final practice in.

Meet Jay Carmichael! Jay has been helping out at ACB for 5+ years. We’ve made this arrangement more permanent so you will see him around a lot more often! Many of you know him for the professional, efficient, and reliable interactions at drop off and pick up. He’s an instrumental part of the inner, behind-the-scenes workings at ACB to make sure dogs are properly exercised and have all they need in and out of their kennel. Shy and hesitant dogs are especially latching on to Jay for his very calm demeanor and interaction with them. Jay loves dogs and horses. He has 2 working stock Malinois, Puppy and Noodle, whom he’s trained quite well! Jay’s role will expand into helping train the in kennel training dogs that come through our doors. Please help me welcome Jay to the ACB family!

I’m excited to introduce you to our growing team! First, a recognition of Bear! He is the employee with the longest tenure. You know him as our pretty chill facility cat. He keeps us on our toes while at the same time keeping us calm when things go crazy. He’s a wonderful distraction to many reactivity private lessons. Bear Is a retired CIA agent. He has a wealth of experience in all sorts of topics. He gets to do pretty much anything he wants around here. Stop in so you can meet this pretty cool fellow!! 🐈 🐾

FREE to Good Home —- posting this for a friend!

Colonel is a very sweet 8 year old yellow lab free to a good home. Colonel is neutered, great with kids, fully housebroken, up-to-date on his shots and on flea and tick prevention meds. He is in excellent shape. The owners have taken wonderful and loving care of him. Their living conditions are changing and Colonel needs to find a new home. If you’ve met my dogs Hexe and/or Crew in action and in videos, you know quickly how amazing those dogs are! Hexe and Crew’s breeder has several female puppies left from these recent breedings. I cannot recommend Mike’s Breeding program enough. I’ve been approached several times recently by owners where to find a good German Shepherd puppy with fantastic temperament and great structure, and Mike is your contact! Let me know if you’d like to discuss this further or give Mike a call. He is great to talk to, stands behind his dogs, and is very transparent with his litters.

Sweet Joni has such a gentle disposition. She’s come for vacations since she was a little baby. She received a little spa bath before going home this time. She is looking very sparkly! We offer exit baths to our boarding guests. You can add the bath request in your online reservation!

The golden girls! Goldie and Willow are extremely sweet mini doodles, and they always have a fabulous time getting those curls exercised in the yard! 🐾

It’s been a gorgeous day so far, absolutely minimal cloud cover. The red line is the perfect spot to watch the eclipse and we are so extremely close to it. We are alone at the moment, where are the eclipse fans??? Traffic is so light, come on out and enjoy this fabulous rare occasion with us!

Meet your eclipse artisan Pippa who will have cookies, lemonade, and solar eclipse glasses available at her infamous lemonade stand. She will also be available for any guidance you need around the property - It shapes up to be a great day!!

Jax says: “thank goodness this storm is over!”. All our canine vacationers and residents are doing great! All of them, including 11 week old darling Jax were troopers hanging in there. We had a lot of rain, and some temporary rivers have formed, but the exercise area is in great shape and all the dogs still enjoyed their exercise let out this morning.

Dogs choking on balls is such a frequent occurrence. It is very scary and not all dogs get to be so lucky. Think about the size of the ball you are using, preferably on a string, and make sure it is bigger than what can go down their throat.
