A very Merry Christmas to all our four legged friends and their parents 🐾🎄

This year has been the best yet for Park N Bark! So many fresh faces on my schedule, I’ve been out at Ruby’s more than ever this year and of course finding indoor storage to battle to cold weather.

Park N Bark is always evolving alongside the clientele that allows me enhance and perfect not only my haircut quality but how I manage, maintain and operate the entirety of the business.

Though with reward comes a bit of heartache. This year I’ve lost more beloved pets on my schedule totally a heartbreaking 42 dogs, 3 cats and 2 pocket pets. What most don’t realize about losing one of my beloved Park N Bark furry friends I also lose a great client, apart of the Park N Bark family as well. This part of the job never gets easier.

Owning a business is a melting pot of emotions both good and bad. Though I am ever grateful for what Park N Bark has blossomed into and meeting and enjoying all the people and pets I’ve met along the way.

And with that, Merry Christmas all ❤️🎄

From matted to marvelous.

While it’s always rewarding getting to help out at Ruby’s, with reward comes heartache. This poor girl was so sweet, patient and brave through out the process. She was so thankful to have me shaving her down and it’s hard to fathom how anyone could let such a kind sweet pup live like this. People suck 😪

I could go on and on about a doodle rant like I normally do after seeing a dog like this in such deplorable condition. While I don’t hate the dogs themselves and more so the breeders, mills and the doodle market that creates victims like Missy in the name of greed, I want to stay positive.

Missy is comfortable. Missy has found her way to an amazing rescue and will be a great dog in a great home in just a short while.

I’m asked frequently why I shave rescue dogs down from head to toe. Most often, because I do not have any other choice. The dog’s coat is too far gone by the time they make their way to Ruby’s and no part of the coat can be salvaged. However, in addition to keeping the process human and not involving any dematting to save the ears, head tail etc. I choose to remove all of the coat as a symbolic gesture. I feel as though removing all of the coat is symbolizing a fresh start for each dog. Shaving off their past life, past trauma and getting to start a brand new life. Missy is no different. She now gets to start her new life and not a shred of her negligent owners or traumatic past is still attached to her.

I’m overjoyed to announce that I have officially found indoor storage for my grooming rig this winter! HALLELUJAH!!

Most of you know winter as a mobile groomer is a nightmare. Keeping things from freezing over, keeping all moving parts moving, warming my generator, etc. Surely, if you’re an established client you’ve heard me gripe about winter a time or two. Fortunately, for me I’ve paired with our friends at Stahly’s to give me ample peace of mind this winter.

Stahly’s has done their very best to accommodate my truck and trailer. Currently, their 24/7 free access unit is under some construction. So for now I’m in an 8am-4pm access unit until further notice. For this reason some adjustments will need made to my schedule.

For the time being all nail trim appointments need to be toward the end of the day. This way, if I’m running behind and need to get the grooming rig into storage before 4p I can take my personal vehicle to the nail trim appointments and do so in home or in garages rather. Additionally, I’ll have to slow down on taking pictures of the pups. I know, totally bummer. Most don’t realize to get good, clear pictures for my page it can add an additional 5-10 minutes to the appointment and until I am switched over to the free access unit I need to be as time effective as possible to ensure haircut quality and attention to detail does not suffer.

Remember, this is all temporary. I’ve been quoted about a month until I’m moved into the free access unit. However, things may arise during construction and I’m just grateful to have somewhere warm to keep my grooming rig this winter and have the added peace of mind all winter long!

Hello all.

I have not had access to cell service during my stay at the hospital. I will be discharged soon and go from there. I apologize communication has been poor for those whom were booked this past week and for those awaiting a returned call or text message. I pride myself on providing my clients with excellent communication but circumstances did not allow.

Moving forward, I’ll reach out to each and everyone in proper triage. Clients needing to reschedule missed appointments will be contacted first in appointment order. New clients inquiring will be next, I’ll return voicemails as time allows.
Friends and family, I will reach out with a personal update and answer asked questions last. I appreciate the outreach and concern for my health but my business, my clients and their beloved animals must come first.

With so many calls to make and logistics to plan around I will do my best to get to everyone in a timely manner. However, with the amount of catching up to do I ask for some patience and some grace as I work my way around to everyone.

Little Penny has joined my schedule and I must say she did GREAT for her first grooming appointment. Penny is 4 months old, her mom and dad are being very proactive by getting her acclimated to the grooming process at a young, impressionable age. It’s always best to get your pup in to the groomer as early as possible. Even if you don’t think your pup needs a full haircut it’s extremely important to get your dog accustom to the grooming table when they are young to ensure a lifelong stress free grooming experience is in their future.

I also got to see Ms. Maddison today, she is such a doll ❤️

I forgot to take pictures of my dogs today so enjoy this clip of Frankie after her spa day. Very proud of this one 😍

Here’s a sneak peek of the new tub installed 😍 The previous tub the original builder installed was not realistic for pet grooming. It was way too high, no dual drain, and would’ve likely cracked in the winter or even driving down the road. Over all not sturdy and I loath using human tubs for pet grooming. We are still on track for my first day in the new unit on the 21st. Again, this could change at anytime as the renovations continue. I’ll continue to build onto the unit as time moves on and I learn how everything functions but for now I’ll have enough storage and equipment to groom efficiently! Thank you everyone for your patience! I’m so excited for this new chapter of Park ‘N’ Bark to start! I can’t wait for everyone to see the new unit. All the waiting will be worth it! Once in the new unit, I will still have to learn to navigate towing, backing up, etc. So until I’m more confident with tougher maneuvers I’ll be parking the unit strategically so I can avoid backing up. I would rather not take out your mailbox or landscaping 🤣 Again, please be patient as I continue to learn my way around the new rig! For those who have called inquiring. I will start returning calls next week. I have not forgotten about anybody and I am doing my very best to triage and accommodate everyone accordingly.
