Meet Pippi and Alda, a bonded pair of super cuteness and fun! The two came from a local animal shelter and are ready for their new forever home. They are very bonded and must stay together. Min Pin Pippi is about 8 years old, Yorkie/Chi mix Alda is about 3 years old. They need a fenced in yard and no children under 12.

SUPER SWEET SPECIAL NEEDS YOUNG HUSKY IN NEED OF LOVING HOME!!! COURTESY POST: Meet Hershey... He is a very sweet and active husky with hind leg deformities. He is approximately 2 years old, up to date on vaccines, not neutered and heartworm positive. Heartworm IS treatable and Heal Pet Care will help with neutering the pup.

Update2: The owner found a home for the pup. Thank you all for reaching out.

UPDATE: the pup is a male and is with another organization. More details as soon as we have update.

1.5 year old Sh*tzu Chihuahua mix is in need of a new home ASAP. No children under 12. He is energetic, sometimes hyper, crate trained, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is initially standoffish with strangers, due to not having had a lot of out of home/comfort zone socialization. Please PM us if interested.

With more hot weather ahead, we thought it would be a good idea to share a recipe for "pupsicles." Yes, you can make healthy popsicles for your dogs!

1/2 cup peanut butter, 1 cup pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling, just plain canned pumpkin), and 1 cup plain yogurt. Freeze for about an hour for a slushy or longer for pupsicles. We skip the sticks and usually freeze them in ice cube trays for bite-sized treats.

IMPORTANT: always be sure any food you give your pets does not have artificial sweeteners in it, especially xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.

People are already setting off fireworks and we have already seen an uptick in lost (and sometimes found) pets. Please make sure your pets are microchipped, collared, and in a safe place where they can't run if loud noises scare them. On Independence Day we highly recommend keeping at least two doors between your pet and the outdoors, if at all possible, if they are reactive to fireworks.

A week ago 13-14 year old senior sanctuary pup Levi was diagnosed with an ACL injury. After consulting various veterinarians, we decided to not do surgery due to Levi's old age. He had ACL repair on the other leg 6 years ago which together with advanced arthritis poses a challenge as well if we proceed with the surgery. The recovery would be very strenuous and the repaired ACL could tear again. All not worth the risk, the pain with the potential of no full recovery.
Levi's spirit is very strong, his appetite is great and his discomfort is definitely under control. We will provide everything he needs including extra pampering while he is healing the conservative way (anti-inflammatory and other pain meds,"cage" rest, restricted activity (potty outings with supporting sling only), joint supplements, a brace to support his knee and foster healing, and possibly laser therapy for the next 5 weeks. We are still trying to find a brace - OrthoDog responded by indicating that they don't have one for the measurements we provided. If you have any experience with ACL braces please do let us know. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
