I told myself that I'd wait until we had confirmation from the hauler, but I just couldn't take it any longer...

My equine god-daughter is coming home!!! Ziva will be shacking up with me while her family gets settled on the East coast. I can't begin to describe how excited I am to have this horse back in my life, especially since she's likely the last one that I'll start from scratch.

Here's to some epic adventures and *maaaaaybe* a show ring appearance or two!

Happy Feast of Epona!

Known as Rhiannon in Wales, Macha in Ireland, and Epona to the Gauls this ancient horse goddess is one of the most well-known of all the Celtic gods and goddesses. This is why I have moved away from traditional competition oriented dressage over the years. The words that many (not all, there are some great ones out there still) top level trainers and judges use are often in direct conflict with what they are presenting and rewarding in competition.

Personally I don't have the money or influence to make much of a dent in the higher echelons of the dressage world. What I can do, however, is to keep raising awareness on how things can be done better. I may not be on track to be the next Isabell Werth, but I'm going to do everything I can to be the next Sally Swift!
