Be very careful in the parking lot this morning! It is a thick sheet of ice. We have someone coming to take care of it on an urgent basis. Our regular company couldn’t make it because their truck broke down. We are working on salting the sidewalks for now but please call from the parking lot for assistance with pets!! 570-784-6440.

By now you may have seen some information on Facebook about the microchip company “Save this Life”.

For many years, we have implanted Save This Life (STL) microchips in pets, as they provided a reliable and easy-to-use pet identification system. However, we recently discovered that STL appears to be no longer in operation. This raises concerns about the ability to recover lost pets using this system.

At this time, very little confirmed information is available about STL’s closure. We do not know if another company may acquire STL or restore its microchip lookup system. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we learn more.

To prevent any future issues, we have immediately switched to a new microchip provider, PetLink, for all new microchip implants at BVH. We are committed to ensuring all pets have secure and traceable microchips, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this situation may cause.

ATTENTION: We unfortunately lost power this morning. We will need to close at 9:45 unless the power comes back on. We will update you on the situation if anything changes!

Effective immediately, BVH will be closed every Wednesday 12pm-1pm (instead of every other Wednesday). We apologize for any disruption this may cause; however, we believe that training our team is a fundamental part of our development and helps to ensure that we continue to enhance the level of service you receive as our clients.

Today, we celebrated 'Friendsgiving' with our amazing BVH team during the lunch break! 🦃🍂 Everyone brought LOTS of delicious food to share, and it was so nice to take a break and connect with one another. We also got into the holiday spirit by drawing names for our team Secret Santa! 🎅🎁

Now that she had her photo taken with Santa, we can official announce the addition of Bobbi Jo to the BVH family! 🐱 Bobbi Jo was found by one of our technicians when she was just six weeks old. We discovered that Bobbi Jo has cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition that causes her to be wobbly, especially when she is focused. She lives a totally normal life otherwise!🥰 She’s playful, loving, and has quickly bonded with Spit. It’s clear that Spit has found a new friend since we lost BB. 💓 We are excited to have her spunky personality around the hospital!

Unfortunately, Offy's new home is not working out. 🙁 He needs to go to a home with no other pets and with adults only. Please help us find his forever home!

Help us rehome Offy! ❤️ His owner recently passed away, so Offy has been living with a family member. Unfortunately, Offy doesn't get along with the cats in the house, so he needs to be rehomed as soon as possible. 🐾 We are unsure how he would do around other dogs, although he has typically been fine seeing other dogs at BVH. He is 10 years old, and would probably do best in a quieter home with older kids. Please reach out to us if you are able to bring him into your home! 570-784-6440

Edit - Offy was also recently seen by Dr. Kielbasa and appears healthy! He has some allergies, as many pets do. Otherwise, he is in good shape, has good dental health, and is well taken care of. He has a couple of lipomas as well.
