Wet Noses Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit headquartered in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Founded in 2020 by Abe and Tracey Abrams, we are a foster based rescue that pulls animals from high kill-shelters in the Atlanta area and find them loving homes. While we have a variety of breeds, ages, and sizes, we focus on senior, special needs, small dogs, and puppies. We rely on a volunteer network to help w

ith our lifesaving work. Volunteers provide transportation (aka Freedom Rides) from county animal shelters to the rescue. Once an animal arrives, they receive full medical care, a lot of love, and behavioral support as they adjust to their foster home.

Pilot is an adventurous one year old mixed breed pup. He spends his day running and playing with his foster siblings, pausing to give his foster mom kisses and get a belly rub break. Pilot is a very loving and playful dog, and would make a great camping or hiking buddy. Another dog to play with would be an awesome bonus.

Rescue work has really rewarding days, and some really hard days. These two doodles are the newest members of the Wet Noses Animal family. Neglected and used for breeding, these dogs are now safe and will spend the next few weeks recovering in foster until they are ready for adoption. First step - carefully shaving off pounds of filthy, matted fur.

Hazel is a 9 year old senior who is easy to love. Her foster mom describes her as, "a happy old lady" who enjoys the simple things in life. You can most often find her near her foster pawrents, preferably sitting right next to them or in a lap. When she isn't living her best life as a lapdog, she enjoys wondering around the yard and exploring all the sights and smells.

Hazel is deaf, so will need a patient family who can work with her on visual cues. She also has no teeth and will need soft food. She doesn't let either one of these things slow her down and will make a very loving companion to a lucky family. Sweet Turtle is looking for a family to enjoy his golden years. He came to the rescue in 2023 and is sure hoping 2025 is the magical year he has a family to call his own.

Around 11 years old, Turtle is perfectly aged and enjoys the simple things in life - cuddles, siestas, and food! His foster mom says he has the most hilarious face while eagerly awaiting his dinner bowl. When the weather is nice, Turtle also enjoys short walks around the neighborhood to check out the latest sniffs and happenings.

A little shy at first, Turtle quickly warms up and will be your shadow in no time. He loves snuggling up to his foster parents every night and enjoys car rides to accompany his people on adventures.

Turtle is a little extra special because he has a 6 out of 6 heart murmur. However, he has no symptoms and does great taking his daily medication to keep him healthy. Besides this one thing, Turtle is just a sweet, easy to love pup.

Elsie is an incredible dog for may reasons:

We are going into the weekend with some happy tails to share!

🌟Leroy, our little 10 lb comedian, has found a wonderful family with a fur sibling. While we will miss is antics around the rescue and his great kisses, we are over the moon to share his happy tail!

🌟Chewy was also adopted this week, who patiently waited several months for the perfect family to come along. They wasted no time getting him groomed and comfortable in his new home. He now has several acres of land to enjoy for adventures and a loving mom who will spoil him. Happy gotcha day, Chewy!
