Hey everyone! Just a reminder that Pippen's Place is about to move to the Greenville area from Blue Ridge. Any amount that you can donate no matter how small you think it is makes a HUGE Difference. You will get pictures and regular updates about your farm animal AND…..you can setup personal appointments with me to meet me and come and visit your farm animal you are sponsoring on a weekend or whenever you have time. You just have to set up a time with me. This is a big move and your help is really appreciated. We also have volunteer opportunities to come out and help around the sanctuary! If you have kids in your family, it is a great place to come out to and bond with them and the animals. Interaction with horses in particular helps with anxiety, PTSD, depression, as horses have a high emotional intelligence!

The Story of Darius

There came a day when we heard a soft “meowing” coming from outside. When we opened the door, we saw a very handsome kitty who couldn’t have been more than a couple of weeks old.

This little kitten was immediately very affectionate towards us and it was obvious that he had chosen Pippen’s Place to be his home. We couldn’t have been luckier. He has become an integral part of the Pippen’s Place brood and is welcoming to newcomers and friendly to anyone visiting. Although a bit mischievous, he doesn’t run far and enjoys riding with us around the property as we water and feed the other animals. Unfathomably, he has discovered how to open and close doors that we thought were fully shut.

Darius is truly a character, and lives up to his name meaning: “maintains possessions well.” He found and claimed Pippen’s Place as his home and can often be found guarding the front window and waiting just inside the front door of the farmhouse. Since it’s been roughly 2 years since he found us, we celebrate his birthday on October 31st!

Remember, your donations go a long way. You may think you don’t have enough to help, but you wouldn’t imagine how helpful it would be if everyone who saw this post even donated one dollar!
