Thank you all very much for trusting me with your precious babies.
I groomed my 1st dog 22 years ago. As a second generation pet groomer, I started bathing dogs in my mom’s shop @ the age of 8 years old on a flipped over 5-gallon bucket or a chair pushed up to the elevated tub. Learning new skills & techniques, having a constant insatiable hunger for knowledge I joined every organization I could, traveled to conventions & trade shows, entered competitions, picking up pearls of wisdom, pouring over the study of dogs endlessly for years & years & years. Grooming dogs has been my career for decades. It has been my talent, art, challenge, heartache, excitement, joy & peace. I have laughed, cried, held, hugged my human clients over all of these magic years as well. When the pandemic hit & COVID-19 being originally a zoonotic disease, I was terrified- truly fearful for the 1st time in this field, even more so than the 2008 housing market challenge. 2020 I had 13 dogs pass away (none grooming related, but it was so painful). Pet owners couldn’t stay anymore for their pet’s washing & haircut needs. I missed their stories of love, life’s woes, updates on kids & grandkids & just being being around my regulars. I felt isolated from the world & it was difficult. My life is now going in a different direction. Aunt Hazel’s Pet Salon will be closing shop December 23rd, 2021. Please please keep sending me pictures & pup dates of your dogs as they transition out to other grooming businesses. I still want to be of any help possible for you & for your dogs so if you want/need grooming instruction, likes/dislikes your dog has, or even a referral for a new groomer, I’ll keep it 100% honest as this has always been my single most important philosophy in the pet care industry. After all, we are their voices.
Enjoy thanksgiving with your loved ones this week & again, thank you for all the trust you’ve allowed me with your pets over these wonderful years here @ Aunt Hazel’s Pet Salon, Blue Springs MO
