UPDATE 4/5/25: Our dog adoption floor will be open today- we ask that per usual you please keep your hands out of the kennels 🙂 This temporary closing was due to an exposure; we had a litter of puppies brought in that had parvo , they were sent to the vet (there is a post about that) and we locked everything down for deep cleaning to ensure it didn’t spread and to prevent anyone from the public walking it out into the community. Parvo is deadly and we won’t take any chances. We have strict vaccination and cleaning protocols, in accordance with the University of TN shelter medicine program, and those protocols protect this shelter and the babies that stay here. Unfortunately, the puppies that were sick already had parvo when entering the shelter 😔 We are pleased that the puppies are recovering well at the vet, and thanks to our medical and kennel team, it was contained and eliminated quickly. Please understand that the decision to cease intake was not taken lightly, and there were a few emergencies that were still taken in. We will never turn away an injured animal. Thank you for your support and trusting us as the animal professionals in your community. We hope everyone comes to visit us at our Outreach event!

**🚨 Important Announcement: Temporary Kennel Closure 4/2/25🚨**

We have recently been exposed to parvovirus, and in order to protect the health of all dogs in our care and the community, we are temporarily closing our kennels to the public.

During this time, we will also **not be intaking any dogs** as we conduct a thorough deep cleaning and sanitization of our facility. The safety and well-being of every pet is our top priority, and we want to ensure a completely safe environment before reopening.

We appreciate your understanding and patience. We will provide updates as soon as we are able to safely resume operations.
