It is highly recommended that you bring your food for your pet(s) prepackaged and measured into individual meals. 🍽

Due to the busy season, we are unable to accommodate early drop off and late pick up times from May 15th to September 15th.

We wanted to make our clients aware of our schedule for the Easter Holiday. The Bluffton Veterinary Hospital and Ottawa Veterinary Clinic will be closed on March 30th and 31st. We will be open normal business hours during the week. Should you need assistance over the Easter weekend, please contact the emergency veterinary clinic, WCOVES (419-221-0269). They will open at 6pm on March 29 and won’t close until April 1 at 8am. We hope our clients and their pets have a safe and Blessed Easter Holiday!! 🐣 🐰 🙏

Electricity is back on already!!

The electricity is out at the Bluffton Vet Hospital which means our phones and internet are out as well. According to our electric company it should be back on by 2 pm. Not only is it National Boss’s Day but it is also National Vet Tech Week! So today we will be thankful for our boss, Dr Baldridge, who is always willing to lend us a helping hand and show us his support, but the rest of the week we will show our appreciation for all of our staff. Without all of them, we wouldn’t be able to function. Everyone plays their part. That why we all make such a great team!!

Bluffton Vet Hospital has been having issues with our internet and phones for the past week usually between 2:30-4:30. We apologize for any inconveniences this has caused our clients. Sorry for the late notice but electricity is back on. Woohoo!!

Currently the Bluffton Vet Hospital is out of power. If you are trying to contact us, please give the Ottawa Vet Clinic a call at 419-523-3698. Be sure to let them know which clinic you are trying to get in touch with. Should power not come back on by 12:30, we will start calling our ealier appts to reschedule first. We will see how the afternoon plays out. Stay tuned.

On April 4, 2023, a person named Arleen Castillo,of Van Wert, dropped a cat off at WCOVES in Lima for treatment. This person didn’t show up to pick the cat up by the time the emergency clinic closed so it was transferred to our Bluffton Clinic yesterday morning. We have tried calling the number left on the paperwork several times to no avail. If anyone knows this person, please have her contact the Bluffton Vet Hospital within the next 24 hours 419-358-2916.

The Bluffton Veterinary Hospital is looking for a RELIABLE part time Groomer's Assistant. This position is for only 2 - 3 days a week. Hours are 8:30 am until 4:00 (could vary).
The applicant must be self motivated and hard working with the ability to lift up to 40 pounds as well as able to stand for long periods of time. Applicant must be good with dogs and cats of all sizes.
Groomer's Assistant job consists of, but not limited to:
* Bathing
* Drying
* Brushing
* Cleaning ears
* Laundry
* Cleaning throughout the day
* Filing grooming cards
Experience is great, but not necessary. We will train the right person. If interested, please send a copy of your resume to [email protected] and in the subject line, label as "Attention Grooming" or stop by the clinic for an application.

With the Winter Storm Warning going into effect for the area for tomorrow, we have decided to take some cautionary preparedness. We have contacted (or tried contacting) all of our scheduled appointments for tomorrow to reschedule them. If you are scheduled for either clinic tomorrow and haven’t heard from us, please give us a call to get your appointment moved. If your animal is sick or you believe may need to be seen prior to Thursday, we encourage you to call ASAP as our schedules for today are filling in quickly. Both the Ottawa and Bluffton Vet Clinics will be closed today due to the weather. If you have an appointment today, you will get a call to reschedule if you haven’t already. If you have a boarding reservation today, you will be able to drop off today; however, you will get a call to schedule your drop off as we will have limited staff and hours. As you may or may not be aware, there has been a nationwide outbreak of kennel cough. It has come to our attention this week that our boarding facility has become infected with kennel cough. We are calling all pet owners who have boarded with us in the last 2 weeks to warn them to watch for signs. Additionally we are shutting down the boarding facility for decontamination. Going forward we will not board any animals that have been boarded or groomed within the last 2 weeks at another facility to minimize the risk of re-contaminating our facility, until the incidence of kennel cough in the surrounding area decreases. If you have not gotten a call from us regarding the situation but have noticed your dog has started displaying signs (dry cough, watery eyes, runny nose, upper respiratory issues) please contact your veterinarian as soon as possible to get started on treatment. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has and/or may cause.
