Ace Performance Horses is happy and proud to announce we have our first SR Industry Titan baby in the barn! "Titan Remember Eddie" is a big, beautiful, spitting image of her father, two year old! We had our first work day with her and couldn't be happier! She was ready to progress a little faster then expected. We went from seeing how much she'd buck with a saddle cinched to her for the first time (none), to her first official ride! Nothing crazy, just walking Brayson around and working on a short lunge line. Extremely happy with the first steps of getting her broke and eventually on her way to the futurity world!

We had a great time at Copper Mare Ranch last night with some great people! Extremely happy with how all of the horses worked! Alivia Cox and Texas ended up setting a new arena record by 2 tenths in barrels!

Forgot to post. "PERKS OF REDNECK CASH" (aka Rooty) ran 3rd Friday night and 2nd Saturday at the new year's show in Cloverdale! This was his first big show back after a year off from injury. It's been a long journey getting back to this point but couldn't be more thankful to have this young stud back on the trailer!

For your consideration for the 2024 breeding season "Perks of Redneck Cash" AKA Rooty. Rooty is a 5 coming 6 year old stud, son of the legendary Redneck Jet. His 4 year old year he really started to hit his stride becoming a consistent low 20 second pole horse and was continuing to get faster before a suspensory injury sidelined his career for 13 months. He also pulled out 2 placings at All American Quarter Horse Congress that year. Today he is back to 100% and won his first open barrel class last night his 2nd run back running just .02 off of the arena record. His mother is our very own PJ Perkin and she has a long list of accolades including numerous high placings at congress, a state championship, junior patriot qualifier and a arena record. She's been a consistent 1D pole horse and 1D/2D barrel horse her entire 8 year career and continues to compete.

Really happy with how far these two have came in there first month at Ace Performance Horses . The roan is a 2 coming 3 year old and this was her first time ever being asked to try to lope a pattern. We've spent the month putting a good handle on her and thought we would see how she would handle a pattern before she gets a little break. The sorrel is a 4 coming 5 year old. She had a late start and we've been doing the same with her. Watch for these two in the future!

In contemporary usage, the phrase "riding for the brand" is often applied to a situation where someone is loyal to a team, company or organization.

But the phrase, unsurprisingly, has roots in the cowboy culture of the American West. It refers to the unwavering loyalty and commitment cowboys had to their ranches or outfits. Cowboys were expected to work hard, protect the ranch's assets and uphold the ranch's reputation.

In ranching circles, "riding for the brand" is a calling of high order. It means more than just doing your job; it means taking pride in your work, being willing to go the extra mile and never giving up, even when faced with adversity.

In the words of Red Steagall, from his poem "Ride for the Brand:"

Owning horses and barrel racing is literally a whole different dimension that most will not comprehend.
When we are out amongst the world it's hard to connect sometimes with others. It feels like you can't relate to people on some level, like you don't fit in. The thing is once you step in the truck and head to a barrel race or a place full of horse people you feel like you belong to a community. They have the same obsession, passion and reality. They understand what is all involved and don't think you are wasting your time or wonder why you do what you do. They don't even question the trips to the vet instead of vacations or the time you spend out in the barn instead of in the house making dinner.
If someone that has horses says that having them doesn't effect the other parts on their life, they would be lying. Practically everything you do day in and day out involves having them... Your goals, summer plans, and commitments to other things. It's hard for others to understand how something can consume such a large part of your life. The reason is because it's a lifestyle! There are hundreds if not thousands of people out there just as like us!
We are not like you and we embrace it!

ARENA RECORD!!!!!!! Tonight Maddie Seeling put one down on one of Ace Performance Horses home grown horses CALLMEJOSSIE!! Names are wrong on the results, we switch horses to avoid a tack swap and holding up the show but these two girls got it done winning the whole first and second division in open and youth! Absolutely amazing watching Maddie shout out her teammate Alivia Cox tonight in her interview when asked if she thinks anyone could beat her new record. True sportsmanship and mutual respect between these twoโ™ฅ๏ธ Schuyler Unruh decided to jump ride one of the horses in the barn tonight and ended up winning the poles on Kat! Great night for Ace Performance Horses

Meet our team!
Last but not least we have Brayson Unruh! Brayson has been working and been around horses his entire life. Brayson ran his first class at the All American Quarter Horse Congress this year and placed 7th! All though we do not recommend him for lessons or horse training above a peewee level don't sell him short if your interested in getting a pony broke out for your young one! He's been bucked off, kicked, stomped and all of the above over his 9 years of life and the kid always gets back on and goes at it again until he gets the job doneโค๏ธ

Meet our team!
Schuyler Unruh (barn name "The big boss" and other names not Facebook friendly ๐Ÿ˜…) Schuyler over sees and focus's on all of the training, care and details of Ace Performance Horses. All though you won't find him in the show arena as often these days due to back and knee issues he is still completely hands on with riding and day to day work that goes into the horses. Some accomplishments include 4 top 10 finishes at the All American Quarter Horse Congress and 2 top 15's. He has trained and sold MULTIPLE 1D barrel and pole horses over the years along with 1D futurity horses. He has coached and worked with multiple youth and jackpot riders with major success.

Meet our team!
Claire Sample! (Barn names "The secretary" "biggest cheerleader" and "clairebear") Claire has been mostly out of the show arena the last couple years brewing more future Ace Performance Horses riders๐Ÿค  Claire manages the horses and everyone else's schedules from chiropractic, vet and feet to show schedules and entries. She is also extremely knowledgeable from giving lessons to the youngest and smallest cowboys and cowgirls to open jackpot riders. Her knowledge of a horses body from her equine massage therapy is also extremely beneficial to us here at Ace. We are extremely lucky to have her and appreciate everything she does for the horses and our team โค๏ธ

Meet our team!
First we have Maddie Seeling (barn name "mad dog")! Maddie has been with Ace Performance Horses for 18 months. She is the reining 2023 Ohio State Fair barrel champion and posted a perfect 8-0 record at the Allen County fair in all of her events including two champion of champions. Maddie has also placed twice at the All American Quarter Horse Congress with a top 15 and top 6. In 2023 Maddie has also had numerous wins and top 5 finishes in classes of 250+ horses. Maddie is in the barn on a daily basis doing everything from cleaning stalls to bemering and nebulizing horses. The girl doesn't stop there though, she still finds a way to ride 4-6 horses daily and do ground work and lunging with the weanlings! Maddie's attitude, work ethic and growing knowledge is second to non and we could not be happier or more proud to have her on our team โค๏ธ
