🐾 I do short ( all over body) trims all kinds of dogs that shed and double coated dogs.
🐾 A lot of groomers refuse to do it. In my opinion, it’s your dog and you can choose the haircut.
🐾 Dogs in our area do not live outside. They will not get too hot or too cold with shorter hair. They won’t get sun burnt.
🐾 Clients who have me trim their shedding dogs short typically as for this trim because they don’t want a lot of hair their house and don’t want to do a lot of brushing. 🐾 I’ve taken many dogs short that had very long thick hair and the dogs LOVED IT! they love being able to feel their skin and roll on the grass and on the carpet. They often get the zoomies when all that extra hair is taken off.
🐾 I can shave down your husky, German shepherd, Labrador, collie , golden retriever etc.
👀 Just know that the coat will NOT grow back to its original state and you will likely have to get your dog shaved down the rest of its life. The coat grows back patchy or thicker in different places.
🐾 Shaved down doesn’t mean to the skin. The number blades that can be used are a #10 that’s pretty much to the skin. #7 which alot of doodles get in the summertime. #5 still short #4 is a length that goldens I trim and goldendoodles have year round. Summer and winter.
🐾 Other longer lengths such as an 0 comb over a 30 blade can be used but ONLY on a well prepped mat and tangle free coat. This is a very popular choice of length but again- the coat can have NO tangles to use this length.
🐾 The above lengths are the typical choices for all ove body clipping in our area. In the photo Abby was trimmed in a 4 and excess hair around the rear and front legs was also taken down to create an even silhouette. 👤 🐕
