As hard as we try, not all stories have the best ending.
Little Nugget came to me on July 4, 2023, weighing only 8oz, super sick, malnourished, full of parasites. He had the best brother Moose who took such good care of him.
Moose & Nugget went to the BEST home & were loved and adored.
After 16 months at this amazing home, Nugget was eating breakfast & unfortunately he died.
It was instant & sudden. A stroke.
Nugget’s BFF, a boy only 9 years old, said *even though Nugget did not live long, it was amazing to love Nugget*.
This goes down as one of the most devastating losses in my rescue journey & I cannot comprehend how the family must be feeling.
But I always say these are living, breathing little beings and nothing is a given.
This family, Moose, Nugget & their human big brother are the reason why I and so many others rescue.
Please volunteer to foster. You are saving a life, giving people a new family member & showing so much love.
Please PM us if interested. We are in South Florida - mainly Ft. Lauderdale.
Please look at comments for Nugget video.

This is a photo of one of our recent adopters with their new kitten.
What this photo does not show…
The tens of thousands of hours our team puts into trapping, loving, socializing, vetting, keeping vigil, putting up adoption posts, going through adoption applications, vet checks, home checks, meet & greets, health checks, transport, and delivery into your safe & loving arms.
In 2024, Changing Tomorrow Animal Rescue adopted 406 cats & kittens to wonderful homes.
97% of those homes were outside the state of Florida and most were through our transport program.
Since the first transport on May 6, 2022 Changing Tomorrow has transported over a thousand cats & kittens to their new families.
Black cats, semi-feral cats, blind cats, paralyzed cats, FIV+ cats, one eyed cats, tripods, bonded senior cats. Over 40% of all cats transported were teens or older.

This takes a wonderful team and this team happens to be mainly women, so thank you to the female *cat lady* warriors.
We cannot save them all but we can try to save as many as we can.
Here’s to a wonderful 2025 with more amazing stories.
Cheers & Well Wishes!

Here is one of the last SAVES of the year. A previous adopter told me about a Mama & her babies left out in the rain. This is what happens to young mamas & kittens in South Florida. Look at those soaking babies.
Our amazing rescuer Casey Ann picked them up and is driving them to our foster.
There is Mama & 5 babies. They will be ready in Feb/March.
Yay, little ones. Today was your lucky day!

About a month ago we shared the saddest story.
TODAY GREAT NEWS: LARRY AND CARLY ARE ADOPTED!!
I am so thankful to Tobey Roberson Nutt, Allison Kristen, wendy walker mazur, & Angela Yorio-Jurgrau for working as a team to save our most beloved pair.
Allison had agreed to foster them up North after Wendy had fostered them for a month & Angela talked to Nicole, an adopter for another pair. She talked her into taking our special pair & her original save - LARRY & CARLY!!
Nicole understands what they have been through and is willing to work however long to make them feel safe. Thanks as always to Tobey for finding an amazing adopter. And to Christine Greene & family (our transport crew) for bringing them home & back with love & dignity.
It takes a village.

Sometimes despite our very best efforts, we as rescuers make a mistake.
Here is a photo that illustrates this.
Meet Larry & Carly. They were trapped when they were 3 months old & adopted by what we thought was the perfect family.
Fast forward a year, the *family* has decided they don’t want this sweet brother & sister. In fact, they adopted 2 more kittens.
These babies became disposable & last month made the journey back to South Florida.
Now they are scared & confused. Why are they not in their home? What happened to their parents?
This is what we deal with in rescue on a daily basis.
We are so thankful we have them but look at the harm that was done to them emotionally.
If you have room in your heart - we have Larry & Carly up for adoption.
Larry is the ginger & he is a love. He takes care of his sister Carly who is shy but not mean. She comes out in her own time.
They are about 1.25 years old and in perfect health besides being a little chubby.
These babies deserve better. If you are interested please fill out our application form.
Available in the NE - NJ, NY, CT, VT, Maine, Philly, NH & possibly MA & RI.
Please share & help.

We are so thankful to an anonymous donor who has funded a community medicine chest through Changing Tomorrow Animal Rescue.
Too often we saw independent rescuers unable to get antibiotics and other life saving medicines.
We have created the Community Medicine Chest to provide free medicine to those in Pompano Beach or Northern Broward or Southern Palm Beach.
We have medicines like antibiotics, eye meds, ear meds, dewormer, flea treatment, vaccines, antifungals & much more.
We know that these medicines are saving hundreds of cats & kittens. It is also allowing experienced fosters to save money.
A huge thank you to Elizabeth Geary Daugherty for being our Wikipedia of medicines and agreeing to hold all of the supplies for this program. We could not do this without your support and knowledge.
Again we would like to thank the anonymous donor who believed in this program.

From one of our most amazing rescuers Casey Ann.

Working in Boston this week..

Little Miss Dove was able to hitch a flight. She hit the jackpot with her new parents! Rescued by Belle Laue, fostered by another beautiful soul, home found by the fabulous Tobey Robertson Nutt through Changing Tomorrow Animal Rescue. Tobey and Laura Changing Tomorrow have found us the greatest homes, we couldn’t rescue like we do, without them. They work tirelessly on the applications.

It costs you nothing to be a flight Angel. Animals can’t help themselves. We must step up and do better for them.

It takes a village of people and we need more members of the community to join our village.

Please step up and help. Thank You 🙏

Dear Supporters,
We apologize for interrupting your Sunday night.
Those of you who have adopted cats from Changing Tomorrow Animal Rescue have probably met Taylor. She is the heart & soul of transport.
Unfortunately a seizure issue has come back and they will not be able to do transport for at least 6 months.
Please help us help Taylor.
All donations will go to Taylor.
Thank you for your consideration.

Today we are going to focus on the positive.
The REASON WE DO RESCUE!
Leo & Sully came to us very sick. Sully had to have SubQ fluids & tons of meds. He had Coccidia which is rampant in South Florida & a kitty cold.
These babies were a mess.
Fast forward 2 months are they are in their forever home with their brother who considers himself the . We have to agree.
What a difference you can make if you

PLEASE READ!!!
How one cat made such a difference!!!
My rescue partner, Tobey, & I met over four years ago while my husband & I were looking for a playmate for our darling Jolie. Jolie was feline leukemia positive & we were looking for another FelV cat.
We met Tobey who is the queen of kitty match making. We looked around the shelter and found a sweet boy who was so scared he would not come out of his cage.
Mikey stole our hearts.
We brought him home & very slowly he came out of his shell. Then, like every cat, he was running the house. He would snuggle with both of us, had an affinity for jumping on our coffee table & running away with people food & napping like a walrus.
He was the goofiest and best cat.
He lived with us for over 4 years and made it to 6.5 years old WITH feline leukemia.
Today he passed over the rainbow bridge 🌈.
BUT HIS LEGACY will live on for decades.
Because Tobey Roberson Nutt & I met those many years ago, we became friends & rescue partners.
Over the last 2 years we have successfully adopted out over 700 cats & kittens in a dozen states.
So although Mikey left us today what a legacy & a gift he leaves behind. So many animals and families are happy because of the bond that Mikey forged between me & Tobey.
One cat can change the world.
Mikey shows us that.
If you would like to donate in Mikey’s honor all money will be spent on transport, our community medicine chest program, or spay/neuter.
What a life.
See you over the rainbow our sweetest boy.🌈
