The clinic provides free to low cost spay/neuter surgeries and general healthcare to local Hill Country pet owners, animal shelters, and other nonprofits. Our mission is to minimize the overpopulation of unwanted dogs and cats in the greater Hill Country area by providing affordable spay/neuter and preventive care services.

⭐Heat Stroke: Short-nosed and heavy-coated dogs struggle to cool down. Keep them in the shade and provide plenty of water. If you think your pet may be in danger, call your veterinarian.
⭐Allergies: Pollen and allergens are high. Pets roll and play, bringing allergens inside. Regular grooming can help.
⭐Parasites & Ticks: Be vigilant about parasitic and tick-borne diseases. Prevention is key. We offer discounted preventives with a wellness exam!

Ya'll! The mosquitos are out in full force. Texas is a high-risk area for heartworm disease, which can be fatal for both dogs and cats. Since mosquitoes can get inside, even indoor pets are at risk.
Here’s what you can do to keep your fur babies safe:
🐾Yearly Testing: We recommend a yearly heartworm test (a simple blood test) for dogs. We've got you covered! Schedule a wellness visit at the clinic.
🐾Monthly Prevention: Use heartworm preventatives like Heartguard, Interceptor, Sentinel, or Revolution for both dogs and cats. Discounted preventatives available with a prescription.
🐾Missed doses can have serious consequences. If you miss a dose, contact your veterinarian immediately for recommendations. Never start heartworm prevention without consulting your vet, as it can be dangerous for a heartworm-positive dog.

From time to time wildlife can wonder too close and might even try to make your home their home. Traps can be set to capture the animal for relocation, but the summer heat we have been experiencing can be life-threatening for these animals when they become trapped for too long. For this reason, we are asking residents to please refrain from setting traps while temperatures remain dangerously high. Once we see a break in the heat it will again be safe to trap wildlife for humane relocation. Thank you for working with us to ensure the safety of all the animals who also call Boerne home.

As we welcome the first day of summer, Dr. Page has some important tips to protect your pets from the dangerous summer heat:
☀️Heat Stroke Risk: Dogs with short noses, heavy coats, or dark coats are especially prone to heat strokes.
☀️Shade and Water: Ensure your pets have a shady spot to escape the sun and plenty of fresh water.
☀️Never Leave in Cars: Don't leave your animals in the car, even if the windows are cracked.

We recognize that spaying and neutering pets is the key to tackling the animal population crisis, which results in thousands of shelter animals being destroyed locally each year. Unfortunately, less than 5% of the animals that end up in shelters are spayed and neutered, and for many families, the cost is prohibitive.
Many members of our community want to do their part to end pet overpopulation but cannot afford the surgery. Your donation can change that. Please help us support five local disadvantaged pet owners in getting their pets spayed.
