At the risk of stating the obvious, and perhaps oversimplifying it, our industry lost a once in a generation revolutionary, and absolute legend with the sudden passing of Bob Avila on Saturday.

His show ring success and influence amongst his peers directly leveled up the BUSINESS of the horse training business, and it has never been the same.
Whole new submarkets within the industry now exist because of, and can be traced back to, his impact on our industry!

All of this from a man whose first and foremost goal was to “Just be known as a horseman”. I think it’s safe to say he cemented that a long time ago! Yes, he is probably most famously known for certain niches, but those lucky enough to have seen him ride, teach, or even just have a conversation with him, know that deep down he was fundamentally before all else a HORSEMAN!

Bob thank you for having the vision and foresight to push the envelope inside and outside of the arena! On a personal level our friendship is one I have absolutely treasured. Knowing I could call on you (and Dana) for anything was a blessing and a privilege. Those of us lucky enough to call you a friend and who experienced this type of unwavering support will do our best to carry it on for those who come next.

May your riding now be pain and penalty box free for eternity! You deserve nothing short of the best Heaven has to offer!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Coach Meneely, Coach Williams, and Coach Braswell for this incredible opportunity. This had been a huge dream of mine and I am forever grateful. Another big thank you to the trainers and coaches that helped me get to this point. Brad Jewett, Martin Padilla, Ellie Stiller, Tamara Ekins, and Lauren Murrell have all in so many ways offered coaching, training, support, and encouragement. It has been a BUSY few weeks for , and we are ready for some time back at the ranch, but we are feeling so incredibly fortunate for the blessings and opportunities we have had!

From start to finish this day was straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Camille Kennedy kicked things off Draw 1 out of the gate and put up a great score on “The Perfect Kryme” which finished the class at 6th place!

Then she followed that up with a brilliant run at draw 40 on Midknight Invitation to finish the class and bring home the 🏆Bronze World Championship in Youth Trail!

To finish the day our Rockstar Vivienne King brought down the house in the CINCH JEANS Horsemanship Invitational as the youngest competitor to make the finals, AND by placing 11th she also took home a check for over $1,000 as the highest placing Novice Rider!

This young lady has the grit, determination, and focus of a seasoned champion and yet is only in her 12 year old eligibility year!

Congratulations to both of these fantastic riders on their achievements, and to all of the competitors today on excellent rides!
