Although their age gap keeps them at very different energy levels they’ll still find their chance to cuddle and bond it out. We have our perfect mix of youth with Fichas & our elderly guy Marley who has lived a beautiful life! We are so thankful their parents chose us to be their go to clinic!

PET OF THE WEEK TIME: Buford T. Justice— the sophisticated furry friend of ours! We are so thankful we have such wonderful patients. We have noticed his favorite place to sit when he comes to the clinic is our benches. If you see him coming make sure to make room! The Fourth of July holiday is 13 days away! Please keep in mind we will be closed for the day. With that being said don’t forget to get your pets anxiety medications filled. If your pet is not currently on anxiety medications and you’re worried they may need some please call the clinic to consult with the team about getting some for your furry friend! Tanner is so special to us, when Tanner is in the clinic you can count on him getting hugs & lots of pets from the team. He is a snuggly little guy that loves to follow mom around, when they aren’t adventuring around they are kicking back & watching tv! 📺

from Kendall County Animal Control

In light of recent developments, Kendall County Animal Control wishes to inform the community about 3 confirmed cases of rabies identified in the area of Coveney Ranch and Rusty Ln.

Rabies is a serious viral disease that affects the nervous system of mammals, including humans.

It is typically transmitted through the bite of an infected animal, most commonly bats, raccoons, skunks, and foxes.

Though rare, the consequences of rabies can be severe if left untreated. Therefore, it is crucial for residents to be aware of the potential risk factors and take appropriate precautions to protect themselves and their pets.

Symptoms of rabies in animals may include:

Sudden behavioral changes (aggression, lethargy, confusion)
Difficulty swallowing
Paralysis
Hightened Aggression

If you suspect an animal may have rabies, do not approach or attempt to handle it. Instead, contact Kendall County Animal Control immediately.

To reduce the risk of rabies exposure, Kendall County Animal Control advises residents to take the following precautions:

Vaccinate pets: Ensure that all pets, including cats and dogs, are up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations.

Avoid wildlife: Do not approach or attempt to handle wild animals, especially those exhibiting unusual behavior.

Secure garbage: Keep garbage cans tightly sealed to discourage wildlife from scavenging.

Supervise pets: Keep pets indoors or supervise when outdoors, and avoid allowing them to roam freely.

Supervise Children: Make sure children are supervised at all times when playing outdoors to ensure they don't come into contact with strays or wildlife.

Report sightings: If you observe an animal acting strangely or potentially infected with rabies, report it immediately.

In addition to these precautions, Kendall County Animal Control encourages community members to educate themselves about rabies and rabies prevention.

We urge all residents to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding themselves and their families against the threat of rabies. By working together and taking necessary precautions, we can help prevent the spread of this dangerous virus in our community.
