We have another custom protection dog order!

This order comes from buyers in Pennsylvania. They have custom ordered a German Shepherd to protect their home, family, and expansive property. We will be picking the puppy and raising it to their exact specifications.

Selections begin in 2026 for the right puppy. This means we now have a two-year waiting list for a custom protection dog unless a sooner spot opens up.

We could not be happier for this family! They picked the best of the best for their future protection dog.

New order for another custom protection dog!

We have received an order for a custom male German Shepherd protection dog. This order comes from a longtime Valor K9 Academy client who trained his first German Shepherd with us in Spokane. He knows our standard for excellence and wants the best of the best for his next dog, or "An Amy Dog" as he calls it.

An Amy Dog - I like that! My standards are the highest in the industry for dog training and protection dogs. Second to none!

We currently have a waiting list and also adapt our orders to fit our buyer's wants and needs. We will begin training a puppy for this client within the next 12-18 months.

Then and now! 💖

Emma is my little helper with all the dogs we raise and train. Here she is at two years old with VPD-K9 Tess and now at four with VPD-K9 Ace.

The pups are about a month apart in these photos. Each of our dogs is extensively socialized and trained starting at two months of age.

SOLD! 🔒

I am super excited to share that VPD-K9 Duke has sold. The perfect buyer came along and when they met, we knew it was meant to be!

As much as I would have loved to finish his training and sell him as a fully trained protection dog, my #1 goal is ALWAYS to pair the right dog with the right buyer. This woman desperately needed Duke NOW and she was absolutely the perfect person for him. He is fully obedience trained, super social, and a naturally territorial dog who gives a deep bark when someone approaches the property, home, or vehicle. He is everything she needs.

Duke will be living on a large estate in Montana as a much-loved companion and property protection dog. His buyer is discreet and requested to not be photographed.

VPD-K9 Duke and Freya’s litter was a repeat breeding in the Czech Republic.

This is their full older brother, Trivet, who is now fifteen months old.

The breeder is extremely selective and held back Trivet as a future stud prospect.

Trivet went Very Good in show three months ago and passed health testing with HD/ED normal, LÜV-typ 1, spondy-0. Excellent!

Their pedigree is 🔥 and the resemblance is uncanny. I see both Duke and Freya in Trivet. What a handsome dog!

Introducing VPD-K9 Ace!

This beautiful long coat German Shepherd is the tenth dog in our lineup of Family Protection Dogs.

Ace is a custom ordered protection dog for VPD-K9 Xxanto’s family. They met VPD-K9 Tess last year, fell in love, and placed an order for their second VPD dog. They asked for a Tess clone, and Ace is exactly that!

She hails from imported Czech and West German working lines and we look forward to raising her to be the perfect addition. Her family will meet her, spend time with her, and watch her grow over the coming year.

VPD-K9 Tess is with us while her owners go on a cruise in Hawai’i.

This beautiful dog is a service dog and threat deterrent. She never received protection training and was sold first as a service dog, but she has a strong and deep alert bark and is a very large female (75 pounds).

Tessie is doing exceptionally well with her owner who loves her to the moon and back!

We have really enjoyed having her with us. She gets compliments everywhere she goes. ✨

Instinct is genetic 🧬

Today my daughter Emma and I were taking five dogs on a walk including VPD-K9 Freya II who has had ZERO protection training so far.

Now, this is unusual in our small town of Eagle, Idaho, but around 2PM in the afternoon, a group of drunk adults approached us. Holding Freya’s leash and the other four dogs, with a four-year-old child, I felt instantly vulnerable and uncomfortable.

Freya sensed it - and intervened!! As one drunk person stumbled towards us and mumbled at us, Freya leapt out in front of me and barked at them.

They instantly backed up and started apologizing then continued on their way. She went right back to calm, no hackles, no growling - she diffused immediately once they backed off.

She is not trained for protection yet and yet this dog who is only eight months old and has only EVER been social and neutral in public, DID HER JOB AND SHE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW IT.

I AM BEAMING. This is genetics, ladies and gentleman. She sensed things and responded appropriately, with force and confidence, yet she was controllable and easy to handle.

I am so excited for her future. She is already the epitome of what my program is all about. ❤️

I just talked to someone who was interested in buying a puppy from our future litters.

Other breeders had told him yes - that they would sell a dog to him.

He wanted the honest truth.

I listened to his situation and said no. A working German Shepherd would be bored and unfulfilled in the job he had in mind for it.

It is too bad most other breeders put profit ahead of the dog’s best interest.

He was grateful for my honest advice. ♥️

Major is one of my favorite dogs with his big heart and loving temperament. He is the perfect Family Protection Dog while also being a valued family member.

“He’s GREAT! He’s on a working vacation right now 😂 We are at the Biltmore in Arizona. He’s like traveling with a Rock Star! People are mesmerized by him! And of course he’s every guys dream dog! 😂 When I take him like this I feel like he gets a lot of work in and that’s so good. I’ve kept him on his strict diet, he’s a lean 106 lbs. He’s huge!! And we LOVE him. I practice all of his exercises with him regularly. I think you would be impressed how I’ve kept up! But you did such an amazing job training him it’s so easy. My biggest thing is keeping his alpha in check, using mom voice just like you had said. I’ve been meaning to touch base with you about his yearly training and your thoughts on that… But over all he’s doing GREAT… he’s changed my life.. ❤️‍🩹”
