VPD-K9 Tess is with us while her owners go on a cruise in Hawai’i.

This beautiful dog is a service dog and threat deterrent. She never received protection training and was sold first as a service dog, but she has a strong and deep alert bark and is a very large female (75 pounds).

Tessie is doing exceptionally well with her owner who loves her to the moon and back!

We have really enjoyed having her with us. She gets compliments everywhere she goes. ✨

Eight months old and everything we want him to be! Intelligent, protective, loving, loyal, discerning, and gorgeous with rich red pigmentation, big boning, and a huge head!

Very pleased with how this boy is maturing. He will be available late this year for the right buyer.

Instinct is genetic 🧬

Today my daughter Emma and I were taking five dogs on a walk including VPD-K9 Freya II who has had ZERO protection training so far.

Now, this is unusual in our small town of Eagle, Idaho, but around 2PM in the afternoon, a group of drunk adults approached us. Holding Freya’s leash and the other four dogs, with a four-year-old child, I felt instantly vulnerable and uncomfortable.

Freya sensed it - and intervened!! As one drunk person stumbled towards us and mumbled at us, Freya leapt out in front of me and barked at them.

They instantly backed up and started apologizing then continued on their way. She went right back to calm, no hackles, no growling - she diffused immediately once they backed off.

She is not trained for protection yet and yet this dog who is only eight months old and has only EVER been social and neutral in public, DID HER JOB AND SHE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW IT.

I AM BEAMING. This is genetics, ladies and gentleman. She sensed things and responded appropriately, with force and confidence, yet she was controllable and easy to handle.

I am so excited for her future. She is already the epitome of what my program is all about. ❤️

I just talked to someone who was interested in buying a puppy from our future litters.

Other breeders had told him yes - that they would sell a dog to him.

He wanted the honest truth.

I listened to his situation and said no. A working German Shepherd would be bored and unfulfilled in the job he had in mind for it.

It is too bad most other breeders put profit ahead of the dog’s best interest.

He was grateful for my honest advice. ♥️

VPD-K9 Major is here in Idaho for his annual maintenance training while his family is in Hawai’i. 🌴

Major is one of my favorite dogs with his big heart and loving temperament. He is the perfect Family Protection Dog while also being a valued family member.

Here he is with his little girl back home in Oregon. ♥️ His family sends me updates regularly and I always love to see how well he is doing.

I checked in with Rip’s owner to see how he’s doing. Here’s what she said!

“He’s GREAT! He’s on a working vacation right now 😂 We are at the Biltmore in Arizona. He’s like traveling with a Rock Star! People are mesmerized by him! And of course he’s every guys dream dog! 😂 When I take him like this I feel like he gets a lot of work in and that’s so good. I’ve kept him on his strict diet, he’s a lean 106 lbs. He’s huge!! And we LOVE him. I practice all of his exercises with him regularly. I think you would be impressed how I’ve kept up! But you did such an amazing job training him it’s so easy. My biggest thing is keeping his alpha in check, using mom voice just like you had said. I’ve been meaning to touch base with you about his yearly training and your thoughts on that… But over all he’s doing GREAT… he’s changed my life.. ❤️‍🩹”

Introducing our two new protection puppies, Freya and Duke! This brother/sister duo hails from a renowned kennel in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿

We chose them for their pedigree - because genetics is everything - and they have not disappointed. Both puppies are exactly what we want: confident, intelligent, and motivated with good looks and great off switches.

We are working with them every day to prepare them for their future role as service dog - protection dogs.

Today I spoke on the phone with a woman who told me a little bit about her life story and how she came to need a protection dog who could double as a service dog.

"I don't feel safe outside of my home anymore."

"I don't feel safe getting into a taxi or an Uber."

"I wake up from nightmares where I'm reliving it over and over."

"I have PTSD and always worry that it's going to happen again."

I know how she feels, and I know the anxiety that goes with feeling unsafe and afraid. I know how immobilizing it is to worry that you are being followed or that you have to watch your back 24/7.

It is why I started Valor Protection Dogs. When I became a mom, my need for safety increased tenfold. I wanted nothing more than to feel safe and to know that my protection dog was always at my side and would take care of both me and my daughter in public. As a mother to a young child, I would be more of a target without him.

I am so thankful for Havok, and I am honored to be able to raise and train protection dogs for other people. VPD is not our sole source of income. We have a pet dog company and an online training platform that pay the bills. Valor Protection Dogs is a passion project that comes from my desire to import, raise, and train the best protection dogs in the world.

We keep our numbers small so we can provide quality dogs to anyone who wants and needs one.

I am looking forward to securing a dog for this very grateful young woman. She had called so many other companies and all of them left a bad taste in her mouth. "I knew you were the one as soon as you answered the phone."

I love what I do and do what I love. I am blessed.

The puppies are now four weeks old. They will be flying from the Czech Republic to the United States at the end of June. We cannot wait to pick them up and begin their training!

Rip’s Happily Ever After has just begun! ✨

His handover training in Illinois was a big success. He’s been in his new home for over a week now, and they are absolutely in love with him.

They told me that it feels like he’s been part of their family forever.

With their recent home break-ins, carjacking, and near robbery at gun-point, they truly needed Rip. He is a valued and much appreciated member of their family, giving them an added layer of security and peace of mind everywhere they go.

Rip will be traveling the world, cruising around in golf carts and Porsches, wintering in Naples, and running free on their cattle ranch.

A special dog in a wonderful new home♥️
