Big or small, every pet we get to meet leaves lasting prints on all of our hearts. 🐾

“There are no words I could ever use to express my thankfulness in how gracefully my precious boy’s euthanasia was handled. You understood that this was the last experience he would ever have in this world, and the last time I would ever get to say goodbye to him. To allow me to be the one to hold him so that he could pass in my warm, familiar hands meant everything to me.

Because my whole being was fully concentrated on him and his comfort, and trying not to fall apart in his last moments with me, I didn’t even think about capturing his prints, but you did. And you did it so perfectly.

And when the tech returned him to me after printing him and told me she remembered him and told everyone the story of why there was a rat named Mouse... My heart was breaking and overflowing at the same time.

Another day at the clinic doing what we love! Did you know that all pets should be seen at least once a year for an exam to help prevent and identify any medical concerns? There’s a “not so fun” side to what we do. 💔 However, we do our best to make you and your pet feel comfortable and loved during those hard moments. Below is a beautiful and heartfelt review from a recent patient:

“The staff at Northwest operate with next-level empathy. I had to make one of the hardest decisions I ever had in putting my dog (Chibi) of 14 years down due to cancerous growths in her throat impeding her breath. We were all so scared and sad going in there to see her out.

The staff allowed us to take her brother -mini Aussie in to ensure he knows what was happening. We were all so emotional, knowing the time has come. The owner, Dr. Wethered initiated the procedure but before he did he told us a story of personal loss and special coincidences that have happened to him that signal that we will always be in contact with those loved ones we lose.

Our Chibi went so peacefully with all of us surrounding her. They created space for us to be with her and lean into our emotions. They all realized that it is a crucial part of the life process.

They will be putting Chibi in an Urn and they made paw prints to give us right after. We were so sad but all of us felt more peace.

The next day I received a call from Hillcrest Floral saying that they had a delivery for me out front. It was a bouquet of flowers, that honestly I had no idea where it came from. Inside was a card from the Doctors and staff from Northwest. Both my partner and I wept.

We are so extremely grateful for everyone at Northwest. This type of empathy is what the world needs more of. Customer for life.
