2019 Gelding by Automatic Cat (Smooth As A Cat x Autumn Boon) out of Hickorys West Star. 15.2 Hands 1100 lbs. “Irish” is a stout and athletic addition to any barn. Irish was shown this summer in the Gem State Stock Horse Association Level 1 Derby and was competitive. This gelding has a great disposition and is easy to be around whether with a trainer, as a non-pro, or around children. Irish has the potential to be finished as a cow horse, taken onto roping, or as your family’s all around gelding. Price/videos available, and PPE’s welcome.

Had an awesome time at the Gem State Stock Horse Association show last weekend! “Automatic Hickory” made his reined cow horse debut showing in the level 1 derby, and did very well for his first show! Next stop is the Magic Valley Reined Cow Horse Association show in Filer, Idaho.

We’d like to thank the Nevada Reined Cow & Cutting Horse Association for putting on a great show this last weekend in Winnemucca! Also, a big congratulations to owner Julia Robinson! Her horse, DJ Cats Peppy Rey, took home a second place check in the NRCHA Limited Bridle. On to the next one!

This horse has been coming back from an injury a YEAR ago. We’ve only been back to “normal riding” for the last two weeks...yet this big guy gave me his all this weekend. It might not have been the run we were hoping for, but we managed to walk away with a little bit of NRCHA money at the Gem State Stock Horse Association show in the limited open bridle. 🔥

Decided to take the bridle off this little filly today to see what she’d do. She is a three year old(coming four) with just shy of 11 months of training, cumulatively. Pretty proud of her!

This past weekend, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to give a two day cow horse clinic in Cottonwood, Idaho! A huge thank you to everyone who participated, and to Randy and Laurie Doman for hosting/putting us up for the weekend. It was a great time and we can’t wait to do it again!

To heck with it, I’m gonna post it. This is a three year old stud c**t that we started in June last year as a two year old. He was started late and then had close to three months off this winter. He’s only worked out of the herd a half a dozen times. Today we took him down the fence for the first time and we could not be happier. Ever since I started this horse, I’ve known two things. 1. He’s really behind 2. We’re gonna get him futurity ready. Today he showed that he really does wanna do the damn thing and I could not be happier with him!

Started this mare a week ago. She just got her teeth done the other day so still riding her in a halter, but decided to put her on the flag for her first time today anyway. Happy with her progress!

I own two four year old mares that have sat around untouched since I got them as yearlings because I was really busy while working full time for Jon Roeser. Now that I’m on my own, I finally got around to messing with them. This is day two working these mares and I got the first rides put on them. Having a little fun while we do it!

It’s okay to rope em, not choke em. Got this mare haltered for the first time using a break away honda to rope her. It’s easier to not create a problem than it is to fix one. Teach them to give to pressure without being reactive and the rest is easy.
