We are a dedicated 501 c3 Non profit reptile rescue and education center here in Idaho.

Our goal is to educate the public about these amazing animals with the philosophy of Education Through Interaction.

Everyone meet Elphaba!
She is the most adorable little baby green anaconda that came to us all the way from our friends at .
But really, what else do you name a green snake?
I guess maybe Hulk, but we already have one of those.
We're pretty sure she is gonna be pretty "popular."
And when she is swimming in her pond, it's like she's "defying gravity."
Now you just have to wait "one short day" to see her because she's on display right by our baby alligators.

While going around turning on lights and opening the zoo this morning, we noticed that Brock, our gaboon viper, was having some issues shedding.
So we let him soak for a little bit, grabbed our restraint tubes, and we jumped in to help him out.

Big thanks to everyone who came out to visit with the gators on World Croc Day!!!

We'll use any excuse to get our gators out... but when there is a day dedicated to all of the amazing crocodilians of the world.

We gotta show some extra love to the best one. :)

!!!ADOPTION EVENT!!!

We have these adorable animals up for adoption!
All of these animals were brought into the zoo when we did "pet" rescues with the intention to use for outreach or some other form of education.
But as it works... some animals just don't like a lot of attention or a lot of people. And these are them.
So we feel they will all do so much better as a pet.

All of them are eating great. Handle great. And as healthy as can be.

So if you don't have an enclosure ready or need any supplies, be sure to go see our friends at and get everything you need.
Then come by and adopt your new pet!

All adoptions will be first come first served. You can call or message ahead to verify that they are still available. And we will update this post as they get adopted.

We tried doing this on our own... but it turns out we need your help.
Some of you know that we have been trying to move to a larger facility for quite some time. Well, we have the amazing opportunity for the perfect spot. (Believe me, cause we've looked at them ALL)
Plus, it's just down the street from our current facility.
But of course, this opportunity is here right after our slower season.
Now we've tried everything we can on our own. But in this shorter time frame, we need help from our amazing community.
But we're not just gonna ask for help.
We're gonna earn it. :)
!!!ALL THIS WEEK IS A WEEK LONG FUNDRAISER!!!
- We'll have public shows weekedays at 3pm
- We are gonna have a WEEK LONG 50/50 Raffle
- An adoption event (Pics and info will be posted this weekend)
And so much more. So we hope to see you there!!!

BIG NEWS!!!
The amazing Miguel, our black and white tegu, got a new job!!!
He is moving down to sunny southern California to join the team of outreach ambassadors to help educate an entirely new community of reptile lovers!!!
And instead of just shipping him down and risking something go wrong, we opted to use this time as a quick summer getaway. And give him a proper vip transport.
This is definitely a bitter sweet for us. Miguel came in to us as quite a handful that took a lot of work and interaction from our amazing team.
And as much as we are gonna miss him, we are excited for the extra time we have to continue working with our family of tegus.

SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY HERE!!!
We have so many fun events planned for you!
We don't know what your weekend plans are... or maybe it turns out it's too hot outside?
This weekend, we have 2 fun filled events planned in a cozy air conditioned area.
This Saturday, we have our Big Squeeeeeeze Saturday feeding one of our giant pythons at 2pm!!!

On Sunday, it's all about the Alligators!
The Idaho Reptile Zoo is turning into the Idaho Gator Den!!!!
We'll have an alligator out all day for interaction possibilities!
Be sure to be there at 2 o'CROC for our Alligator Feeding demo, for not only a great experience, but also a chance to meet Olaf, our baby ALBINO ALLIGATOR!!!

FELICITY UPDATE!!!!!

Do you guys remember Felecity?! That adorable little dwarf caiman we went to go get a couple of weeks ago.

She's doing FANTASTIC!!

She has developed her own routine, has become so much more comfortable, and best of all.... SHE ATE OFF TONGS!!!!

Which may not seem like a big deal, but Felecity is a very secretive animal. When we first got her, she would duck down and hide when we entered her enclosure.
But Alyssa has been talking to her and getting her used to her voice, to the point that she not only ate for her. SHE CAME OVER TO HER!!!

But to get the full effect.... you have to watch the whole video and turn up the volume. Alyssas reaction is priceless.

Let's get the Summer Schedule started!!!!

This Saturday and EVERY Saturday, we are now feeding one of our amazing giant constrictors!!!!

Of course, we need to start with Wanda today at 2pm!!!!

Our favorite thing in the world is when you guys get to experience that every day around here is never the same as the last.
You never know what to expect... you might notice a new enclosure, we may have a new activity, you may get to watch an alligator feeding, or even pet a snake for the first time.
Even on days like this, you get to interact with Richard on his enrichment walk around the zoo.

And we love that!!!

We can't wait to hear what you notice on your next visit. :)

Everyone meet Olaf!

Yes! It's finally happened!

We FINALLY have our very own ALBINO ALLIGATOR!!!!

Be sure to go through all of the pictures to see what is extra special about Olaf. Besides, the obvious, he loves warm hugs.

But as you notice... he has an adorable crooked smile caused by a birth defect that slanted his bottom jaw to the side a little bit. Which is fine by us, because he still eats great and really it wouldn't be one of our alligators if it didn't come with some sort of special need, right?

Either way... if you think he is adorable in pictures, you gotta come see him in person. These pictures do not do him any justice!
