“As temperatures drop, cats and wild animals may curl-up under car hoods or wheel wells for warmth. How can we help? Give the hood of our cars a quick tap or thump before starting the engine to help any animals that may be hiding inside a chance to escape safely!⁠

❤️ Take Fred, a tiny kitten who was taken on a big, unexpected journey. A Good Samaritan discovered him tucked inside the engine bay of their vehicle after driving home on the highway. He was rushed to an emergency veterinarian where vets found burns on all four paw pads, a laceration behind his left ear, and lameness in his rear left leg.⁠”

🐱 Many cats get the zoomies right after using the litter box—it’s their way of releasing pent-up energy!
🐱 Cats are nearsighted, but their night vision is incredible—they can see in light levels six times lower than humans can.
🐱 Cats have roughly the same number of brain cells in their cerebral cortex as brown bears—pretty impressive for such a small creature!
🐱 That soft “belly pouch” (called the primordial pouch) is found in lions and tigers too—it helps protect their organs and gives extra flexibility when running or fighting.
🐱 When cats scratch furniture, they’re not just sharpening claws—they’re also marking their territory with scent glands in their paws.
🐱 A cat’s purr can range between 25 and 150 Hertz—frequencies that may promote healing and reduce stress (for both cats and humans!).
🐱 Each cat’s nose print is unique—just like a human fingerprint!
