Simply Cats Boise's cageless, no-kill, feline adoption center. Thanks to a very dedicated group of people, the shelter grew and moved into a larger building.

Simply Cats is Boise, Idaho's no-kill, cageless feline adoption center. Simply Cats got its start (with just six cats!) as Just Strays Animal Foundation, Inc., in a one room office in 1986. In 2006, the name of the organization was changed to Simply Cats Adoption Center to reflect its feline-only animal population. Meanwhile, plans were underway to

construct a brand new state-of the-art adoption center. Thanks to generous donors, the facility was constructed and donated in 2007 and has been our home ever since. Today, Simply Cats Adoption Center shelters over 100 cats and kittens and operates due to the hard work of a small staff and many volunteers. Simply Cats is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that relies on donations for funding.

I was rescued in Parma by a kind person who couldn’t keep me. Now, I’m searching for a forever home where I can truly settle in. When I first arrived, I was overwhelmed by all the changes, but I’m slowly finding my confidence. Affection means the world to me – I love human contact and, once I feel safe, I’ll happily curl up in your lap for soft pets.

Toys bring out my playful side, and the feather wand is my absolute favorite. I also enjoy using a scratching post and do well with the other cats in my room. If I get scared, I might retreat to a quiet spot, but with patience and love, I’ll continue to blossom. I’m ready to settle into a home where I can be my best self, knowing I’m safe and loved.

I’m officially retired from life on the streets, and I’m ready for the good life indoors. I’m just a big baby with the sweetest spirit. My meow is almost silent – sometimes it comes out as a tiny squeak, like I lost my voice – but I’ll always find a way to let you know I appreciate your kindness. At first, I might be a little unsure, but the more love and patience you show me, the more I lean in – heart and all.

I’m a gentle, kind soul who just wants a soft place to land. One of my favorite things is lounging on the catio, watching the birds outside – it’s my kind of relaxation. Now, picture yourself with a cup of coffee or tea, and me right beside you, both of us gazing out the window, taking in the world together. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?

I’m a sweet and gentle soul trying to find my way after a heartbreaking loss. My beloved mom unexpectedly passed away, turning my world upside down. As I navigate these changes, I feel shy and uncertain, but one thing has remained the same – I long for love, comfort and a place to belong. I’m a dashing one-eyed pirate with the softest grey fur and an even softer heart.

At nine years old, I know the joy of a cozy nap – whether tucked away in a quiet closet or stretched out on a warm bed. Scratching posts and cat trees keep my paws busy, but what I truly need is a kind, patient heart to help me feel safe again. I’m ready to start my next chapter in a home where I’ll be loved and cared for, just as my mom would have wanted for me.

Six months. That’s how long Sally and Marcie have been waiting for a home of their own—longer than any other cat currently in our care. They arrived as kittens, but now, at almost 11 months old, they’ve spent more of their lives in a shelter than in a home.

Despite their sweet personalities, they keep getting overlooked. They aren’t always the first to run up and greet visitors, but that doesn’t mean they don’t crave love. Sally, with her playful sink antics, waits for someone to turn on the water so she can drink and splash. Marcie, always ready for a wand toy session, purrs endlessly when she gets head scratches. They may take a little time to warm up, but with patience (and some tasty treats), you’ll earn their trust—and their hearts.

HAPPY FELINE FRIDAY! Sit back n’ relax as we introduce you to some of our adorable kitties. Currently, we have 5 kittens, 8 teenagers, and 15 adults available for adoption. More cats will be joining our adoption floor soon!

Churu was trapped and brought to Simply Cats in August. Upon arrival, he was panicky and would dart if given the opportunity, but he never once hissed or swatted. We knew he had lots of potential to blossom. After spending some time in our foster program for socialization, he joined our adoption floor. However, he was still nervous and began losing weight, so he returned to foster care. Now, Churu is feeling much better and is ready to find his furrever home! Churu is independent yet loves pets. He’s an equal opportunist when it comes to cuddles, happily snuggling with any cat in his room who welcomes him. He spends much of his time in the catio, watching all of the squirrels and birds. Churu finds comfort in the company of other cats and would thrive in a home with another young feline friend.
