I’ve had a lot of people ask us, what are microgreens?
Microgreens are young plants harvested in the early stages of growth and packed with flavor, nutrients, and color. Here are five ways to utilize microgreens in the kitchen:
• Salad: Microgreens are an excellent addition to salads, providing an extra layer of texture and flavor. They can be used as a base or as a topping to add a fresh, crisp taste to your salad. Mix and match different types of microgreens to create a unique and colorful salad.
• Garnish: Microgreens are perfect for garnishing soups, stews, and other dishes. They add a pop of color and a fresh taste to any dish. Use them to add a finishing touch to your plates and make them look more visually appealing.
• Smoothies: Microgreens are also an excellent addition to smoothies. They add a boost of nutrients and a unique flavor to your smoothies. Try adding microgreens such as sunflower, cantaloupe, or peas to your next smoothie for a healthy kick.
• Sandwiches and Wraps: Microgreens are an excellent way to add some crunch and flavor to your sandwiches and wraps. They can be used as a filling or a topping to add texture and taste. Use them to create a healthy and delicious sandwich or wrap. We enjoy a turkey and Swiss sandwich with our Triton Radish microgreens.
• Stir-Fry: Microgreens are also great for stir-fry dishes. They add a fresh, crunchy texture and a unique taste to your stir-fry. Try adding microgreens such as pea shoots, radish, or sunflowers to your next stir-fry for a delicious and healthy meal.
