I visited Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue yesterday to drop off donations and met Fairbanks, a 2-3 year old husky ready for adoption. Fairbanks is a loving companion who would thrive in a family environment with or without children and can share attention with other pets. This handsome dog is eager to find his forever home. Harley's mom scored major brownie points by hooking him up with a bag of Blueberry treats at doggy daycare pickup. The goofy grin plastered on Harley's face pretty much confirmed he was a fan. His mom was totally on the same page.

Just received some exciting news from ADOPT Animal Shelter. Beginning July 10 the clinic is expanding.their services. Fiull details below!!

We’re excited to share some exciting news from the A.D.O.P.T. Community Clinic! Starting July 10, we’re expanding our services to offer even more affordable care for your furry family members.

In addition to wellness exams, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries, the Clinic will now see pets for minor illness and injury—including things like skin irritations, ear infections, and minor wounds.

This expansion helps us fulfill a mission close to our hearts: making veterinary care more accessible to the families who need it most. With special pricing for veterans, individuals with disabilities, and those receiving Social Security or Link (SNAP) benefits, we’re continuing to remove barriers to care—because no one should have to choose between their pet’s health and financial security.

Now Available at the A.D.O.P.T. Community Clinic:

Sometimes, life is just not fair. We try our best, we volunteer our time, we get the pups out and make sure they’re fed and taken care of, but sometimes that’s just not enough.

Tully and I recently marked a significant occasion - our 8th anniversary as a guide dog team. My talented guide dog has made notable contributions, initially gaining recognition as a celebrity puppy raising awareness for Guiding Eyes for the Blind on the Today Show. She went on to become the mascot for Sister Friends and inspired the launch of a health-conscious dog treat business, now available at a local small business. Throughout her accomplishments, she has consistently prioritized her role as my guide, ensuring my safety and independence in spite of my vision loss. Her steadfast presence has been a pillar of strength, offering solace during challenging times and sharing in our accomplishments. The connection we share is profound, and reflecting on her impact brings me to tears. Happy Anniversary to my outstanding guide dog. You are truly one of a kind, and I am eternally grateful. My appreciation for you is limitless. 🐶
