Ryan Murphy “ Amanda did you get a new cat?”

Update: Cat has a home, another barn in Bolton.

This cat arrived overnight sometime. Not sure whose it is or if it has a home. George is not pleased by the presence of the new cat. Hopefully either someone claims this cutie or George accepts the new addition. Never a dull moment on the farm lol

The donkeys have a smaller size stall and with the dutch door to their run out it can get quite a bit drafty. Josh ordered a strip door curtain kit and installed it. The first night he put up two strips leaving quite a bit of room for the donkeys to easily go through. I love my little donkeys, sometimes they can be quite suspicious of new things lol I was beyond proud of Josh how he patiently and calmly worked with them. He showed them that it was okay and with some snacks was able to get them to walk through several times. He a couple nights later put up two more and did the same thing. Instead of putting it all up at once and making them work through that big question he really has broken it down for them in stages:)

The snow is beautiful, I can’t help but take a moment to pause and enjoy it! Okay moment over back to work lol Thank you Cassie for making it here this morning:) To my husband, Josh, you ensure this farm continues to run❤️ This man got up early to start moving the snow before he goes to work.
Enjoy the snow ❄️ I know the dogs and soon the horses will:)

Such a nice day, much needed after the brutal cold week we had. Josh finished Gus’s door, it needed to be framed more and have the latches installed so it would close…I mean thats helpful lol
Gus and I took advantage of the nice weather. He was such a good kid, just keeping it light right now. I taped his shoulders and hamstrings to give him a little support.

Its been so cold 🥶 Even still on Tuesday Dr. Flint came to the farm for Gus and Henry. They were good kids for their adjustments.

The fence was finished for the puppers, yay!! They are beyond thrilled to have some space to run freely without leashes.

Work continues and today was no different even with this brutal cold and wind. Allison Beth Charney came out and trimmed everyones feet. They were all fantastic:)

Thank you everyone, it takes a village and these days are long and tough. We couldn’t do it without you ❤️

Kicked off this busy week with our fence getting installed:) So excited for the dogs!! Hopefully it’ll be done tomorrow, Wednesday the latest.

The donkeys needed a much needed paddock fix this morning, the wind yesterday had broken some lines. Checked that off my list!

Gus and Sprite enjoyed a magnawave session with Barbara Archambault. They both are feeling good and ready for this cold weather to end!!

Well….its down and my heart can return to normal rhythm. This tree has been a hazard, dropping limbs with every storm. We are getting the fence for the dogs so of course it HAD to come down today lol

Gus and I had a lesson today, just getting back into it from all the weather. He was struging with bending left during our warmup, so even though he felt better during our ride I checked in to see if he wanted to have some time of the sure foot pads. He is very expressive so when he wants to be done or doesnt want the pads he lets me know by pawing them out of the way. He stayed on them for a good five minutes just licking and chewing.
Sprite has been on again off again so we wanted to get her checked over. Dr. Sears came out and she was cleared to go back to work:)

Foxtrot Hill Farm - the farm designed with your horse in mind!

Is your horse prone to ulcers? Cribbing or weaving? Kissing spine or back spasms? Foxtrot Hill Farm utilizes the Paddock Paradise system designed to help reduce stress levels and allow a more natural lifestyle for your horse. The Paddock Paradise track system, originally developed by Jaime Jackson, encourages steady movement throughout the day with hay placed out around the track. We have two tracks set up on the farm, each with it’s own run in shed. Small group turnout (we have a maximum of six horses) also encourages healthy horse behaviors such as mutual grooming and play. Options for individual turnout are available. Our farm also has a well-maintained indoor with excellent footing (72x140), a sizable outdoor(80x200), and adjacent trails. Big barn services such as blanket changes, fly spray, booting as-needed, and customized feeding programs are included, while maintaining the small barn atmosphere. Owner is a certified equine massage therapist to help ensure your horse is happy and comfortable. Instruction available or bring your own trainer with no additional ring fee. If you’ve been looking for a low-stress environment for your horse without sacrificing amenities or attention to detail, Foxtrot Hill Farm is for you! Conveniently located minutes off of I-384, Rt 6, and Rt 44, near UConn and Hartford.
