Alexis and her daughter Piper are under the weather. Which means Beth, Mahala, Jenn and our new trainee Vanessa are pulling in extra hours and extra work. So please be EXTRA kind, patient and understanding.
-submit your vaccines, complete your registration and be prepared for your lessons
-please be understanding we might not be able to add additional services day of service. I.e nail trim on a drop off for Daycamp
-do your homework. Nothing is more of a bummer than our team investing in your dog and Owners not putting on equipment, practicing concepts learned or being able to build of the skills taught last lesson
-attend the services you registered for. We will be enforcing no shows and rescheduling fees to ensure staff are compensated fairly.

We’re getting a lot of questions regarding “who would you recommend as a Pet Sitter” as the Holidays approach.

❌Well we just don’t ❌
✅And if we do they have these things in place ✅

So ensure you’re asking these questions:

🪪 💵 📝
LICENSE AND INSURANCE: What if the dog is destructive and eats your couch or theirs while you’re away? Then needs surgery? What if the sitter gets in a car accident with the dog in the car? Whose responsible for these expenses? What happens if the dog runs away? What happens if the dog bites the neighbors kid while the sitter is walking the dog and you’re away? What if they bring another person, child or someone the animal isn’t familiar to either your house or theirs without you knowing? What is outlines in their “service agreement” if any?

🩺💊PET CPR/ FIRST AIDE: what would happen if your dog eats a Cane Toad? Starts limping after they played? Doesn’t eat for days? Has loose stool?

SANITATION: are their personal animals vaccinated? Is their home clean? The yard sanitized? Do they have pests in their home they can bring to yours/ you you bring home in your bedding?

SURVEILLANCE/ SAFETY: is there a security system? Cameras? Fire/ carbon monoxide monitoring systems? Secured fencing, doors and gates? Do they have an alternative plan if there’s a hurricane while you’re away? What happens if they get injured while caring for your pet? Who else will assist in caring for your pet?

SKILL: the pet industry is not a “side hustle” or hobby. It takes behavioral experience to help your dog ease in a new environment or with a new person. Training skills are necessary to help walk your dog, feed your dog and play with your dog to prevent liability issues.

ENERGY: whose managing the Pet Sitters negative energy or bad moods? Whose supervising the sitter if they need to correct the dog for a behavior? What if your idea of management and there’s do not align? What if they are having a bad day? What if they’re not feeling well? Will your pet receive the same quality care?

SCHEDULE: How can you reliably ensure care is being provided other than verbal and trust? Do they have software that timestamps who fed the dog, let the dog out and what they did with the dog during their visit? How many dogs will be watched during your pets visit? What happens if the sitter has to work a longer shift? As most pet sitter do this as an extra way to earn fast cash vs a professional Pet Sitter.

So please if you’ll be opting for a “at home” experience ensure they have these minimal requirements as we understand some dogs do not do well in a “facility” style Boarding arrangement.
