🌟🐴 HELP WANTED! 🐴🌟
We are looking for the following full and part time workers to join our team! We are a 40 stall horse boarding facility in Bonner Springs KS.

**These are horse care jobs, NOT a horse riding or training job.**

Available positions:

1. FULL TIME - Stall Cleaner
Needed from 7am-5pm, 5.5 or 6 days per week.
Responsibilities include: cleaning stalls (majority of the work!), bedding stalls, sweeping/vacuuming, and occasional property maintenance.

2. PART TIME - Morning Chores
Needed from 7-9am, number of days is flexible
Responsibilities include: feeding horses and leading horses in and out from turnout.

3. PART TIME - Afternoon Chores
Needed from 3-5pm, number of days is flexible
Responsibilities include: feeding horses and leading horses in and out from turnout.

Ideal candidates will be hard-working and have some previous experience around farms or ranches.
Must be Honest, Dependable, Organized, Hard Working, a Problem Solver and a Team Player. Being Handy is a plus!
Pay dependent on experience.

After skimming through some comments on a few shared posts I’d like to add this:

This study was to determine whether or not horses have a preference for water temp, not specifically which temperature, or under any specific conditions.

Horses will drink water outside of ideal water temps, but similar studies have shown they drink more water within a certain temperature range. Ex- I’ll drink warm water if I’m really thirsty, but I’ll drink significantly more if it’s room temp or slightly chilled.

Every horse’s preference will be slightly different.

Ever stick your hand in 66 degree F water? It’s not warm😅

Groom needed for dressage trainer:
Sadly ,I need to replace my current awesome groom, so I am looking for someone who wants to work with horses five days a week, grooming, tacking up/off, giving medications, and everything else involved in taking care of (and spoiling) the dressage horses I have in training at Phalen Equestrian Center in Bonner Springs, KS. I have a group of wonderful horses and clients in a very friendly environment.

Today marks day two of our 6th year in business. Six years ago, I’m not sure I could have scripted the adventure we’ve been on.

And now, it’s not just our business, but our home too.

This frigid weather can make it challenging to count our blessings, but we are particularly grateful for two things these past two days.

1. Our AMAZING and dedicated employees. They work tirelessly to make sure every horse has a clean stall, ample hay and grain, and pasture horses have hay both inside and outside. THANK YOU!

2. Our Drinking Post frost free automatic waterers. Thanks to them all horses have continual access to clean, perfect temperature water. 24/7.
Ready for this cold snap to end though!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Four years ago today my dream came true.

We’ve worked hard to become a facility where people feel welcome and know that their horses are well taken care of.

Thank you to all of our customers who have placed their trust in us. We are so grateful for you!

Thank you also to our employees, advisors, vets, farriers, suppliers and everyone who has been part of making Phalen Equestrian Center what it is today. It can’t happen without you.

Thanks especially to Jim Phalen...my dream became his job and he and his crew have poured countless hours into many improvements to the facility.
