Jordan and I love to host guests, and the kids are always excited when someone is coming to dinner! These guests have alittle different reception! 😬 Our hens love to explore and sometimes our fences let us down… We have deer 🦌 tangle with them at night, and if the hens push in on the fence too hard it pulls it low enough for it to look like their open door. They can fly over if they really want as their wings are not clipped, and that’s why we get visitors! Why do we still choose free range?! We wouldn’t have it any different! Our website tells you why!!

The garlic is in the ground! 🌱

Our soil was so dry that Jordan had to water it after adding compost, just so he could till and prep the beds. Then, right on time, rain made it a sticky challenge, but everything finally came together. This year, we planted ten full rows. We added extra of your favorites, like Russian Red, and we’re building up our Elephant Garlic seed stock, too.

Fun fact: this is the latest we’ve ever planted! October 22& 23!

Next week, we’ll start making garlic powder. For those of you with pre-orders, thank you! You can still reserve yours on our website. 🧄

This feels like such an accomplishment! The last several days we’ve spent fixing waterlines that had broke in our freezing temps during winter, hours and hours of washing, maintenance on the egg belt and now we are finally ready for our new flock of hens! You can see waterlines on the outside edge, red feed pans and I give you a peek in the nest boxes and lastly the belt that carries all the eggs to the back of the coop.
