As many of you already know Sweetwater Farm was hit pretty hard by Helene. We have many, many trees down and lost a lot of fencing. Jax my Border Collie was fearless and was willing to work in the middle of the storm. The first tree fell on the pasture fence where the hooved stock were. I needed him to move them all to the lower arena. In the pouring rain with trees cracking and whipping in the strong winds he went in and moved them out. Thankfully all animals are safe and no lives were lost.
We have been working hard to clean up as much as we can ourselves, but we are at a point now we can't do it ourselves. I am desperate to get the farm cleaned up and safe for clients and their dogs. Insurance will take care of our home and the outdoor structures but will not help with the fence repairs and tree removal. I humbly ask if you feel it in your heart to donate, please do.

Wick gets goosed 😂 😂 Wick has been all about those geese lately, so I let him try his hand at herding them for the first time yesterday. Let's just say he needed a refresher course on personal space after the geese went all momma goose on him. Lessons learned the fun way!

Wick has assumed the duties of collecting and returning the stock to pasture after lessons. Today, he demonstrated impressive initiative by gathering group two and merging it with group one, all without my direction. His ability to recognize what needed to be done and execute it confidently showcases his developing understanding of teamwork and the importance of having each other's backs. Following a brief work session, he expertly led the sheep to the pasture.
Jax just rolled his eyes 🙄

An amazing two days of herding trials!!
Malo (Border Collie) 1st place advanced A course (sheep) High in Trial and 1 more championship point bringing his tally to 5.
Kylo (Australian Shepherd) two 1st place runs in intermediate A course (sheep) and a Reserve High in Trial.
Rory (Cardigan Corgi) earned a 1st and 5th in started A course (sheep).
Jennifer (Cardigan Corgi) finished her PT title and moved up to started A course (sheep) missed the Q by a half a point due to the 50% rule.
Duna (Pumi) earned a 2nd and a Q in Started.
Archie (Border Collie) earned a 3rd and a Q in started.
Tang (Sheltie) earned his first leg of his PT.
Wrangler (Australian Shepherd) earned his PT title.
I am so proud of you all! Herding is not easy but this crew made it look like it!
